Subtitle data for the left eye and subtitle data for the right eye which are used for 3D display of subtitles is recorded in a disc 501 in increments of epochs. The structures of epochs of subtitle data for the left eye and subtitle data for the right eye to be played simultaneously are the same. That is to say, the number of display sets making up an epoch of subtitle data for the left eye, and the number of display sets making up an epoch of subtitle data for the right eye, that are to be played simultaneously, are the same. The present invention can be applied to a disc for 3D display.
