The side part or parts are joined to the main part by means of a joint member. The joint member may be formed in various manners. The joint member includes an insertion portion and a rib formed thereon.

    Abstract: A draining mechanism for an automotive door in which the conventional sealing screen is eliminated in the door and a draining function is provided at the lower end bent outwardly of an inside decorative plate fastened through a gap on an inside panel along the lower end corner of the inside panel. Thus, the water introduced through openings perforated at the inside panel into the gap between the inside panel and the inside decorative plate can be exactly introduced externally of the compartment for an automobile.

    Abstract: A roof structure for an automotive vehicle includes a roof panel, a roof rail having a plurality of holes, a head lining, a support member fixed at both end thereof to the roof rail for supporting the head lining under the roof panel. The support member is made of a hollow pipe. The support member has an opening near each end thereof. A stopper is separable from the support member and attached to the opening of the support member in such a manner that the stopper engages the roof rail when the ends of the support member are inserted into the respective holes of the roof rail.

    Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a novel and improved snap-on plug for an apertured panel. The snap-on plug comprises a shank and a flange extending laterally from one end of the shank. The shank is hollow and adapted for insertion within a complementary panel aperture. A groove is formed in the outer surface of the shank at a location adjacent the flange and adapted for engagement with a panel portion around the aperture. The shank is provided with an inner surface portion upon which a force is applied when the plug is to be inserted into the panel aperture. The inner surface is inclined with respect a plane in which the groove is positioned such that upon insertion of the plug into the complementary panel aperture the groove is gradually brought into engagement with the panel.

    Abstract: A motor vehicle window assembly comprises a windshield, a window frame flange in parallel spaced relationship to a marginal area on the rear surface of the windshield and a looped trim strip. The looped trim strip includes a channel portion embracing the edge of the windshield and a dam portion spaced apart from and connected with a rear channel wall lying against the rear surface of the windshield by a plurality of bridges. The rear channel wall, dam portion and the rear surface of the windshield forms a channel into which an adhesive is injected. The adhesive bonds the windshield to the flange of the window frame and is prevented from being exposed to the ambient atmosphere by means of the rear channel wall and dam portion which lie against the flange.
