  • Publication number: 20030201587
Abstract: A submerged nozzle for continuous thin-slab casting by which a high quality thin-slab strand may be stably supplied for a long time in a continuous manner is provided, as a drift current and surface fluctuation of molten steel in the nozzle and a mold are prevented, and adhesion of ground metal to the nozzle, the damages of the nozzle and the like are suppressed even under long time use.

  • Patent number: 6637629
Abstract: The invention presents an immersion nozzle having corrosion resistance to steel of high oxygen content or type of steel treated with calcium, and capable of preventing adheres and deposits of molten steel and oxide inclusions on the nozzle inner wall, in which at least a part of its portion contacting with molten steel is composed of a refractory material containing 50 wt. % or more of a principal component including one or more types of magnesia, alumina, spinel, zirconia, mullite, and silica, and also 0.3 to 15 wt. % of boron nitride, and an organic binder.

  • Patent number: 6340200
Abstract: A pillar outer of a front pillar of an automotive vehicle comprises a stiffener and a flange portion connecting to a pillar inner. A peripheral portion of a windshield is fixed to a front face (a face orienting outwardly of the vehicle) of the flange portion via a plastically deformable member which can be deformed easily and plastically when a load is applied thereto in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. When an impact generated when an obstacle comes to interfere with the windshield is transmitted to the plastically deformable member, the plastically deformable member is easily press collapsed by the load, and the impact that is to be received by the windshield and the obstacle can be absorbed through the impact absorbing action. In addition, since the front face of the peripheral portion of the windshield is disposed flush with an outer wall portion of the pillar outer, a connecting portion between the two members is made flush with those members to thereby reduce the air drag thereat.

  • Patent number: 6340203
Abstract: An outer panel is made thinner than an inner panel, and a rear face facing a front door is folded so as to form a valley groove hollowed toward the interior of a tube constituted by true outer panel and the inner panel, whereby when a large magnitude of external force is applied to a front face in a rear ward direction, the outer panel is allowed to be deformed more largely than the inner panel to thereby collapse the valley groove, whereby the rearward travel of the rear face can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20010038227
Abstract: An automotive vehicle in which a door hinge 64 of a front door 15 can forcibly be moved transversely outwardly of the vehicle, the automotive vehicle comprising an acceleration sensor 57 for detecting an impact applied to a front pillar and a door moving mechanism 52 for forcibly moving the door hinge 64 transversely outwardly of the vehicle, whereby the front door 15 is constructed to be moved transversely outwardly of the vehicle. In the event that an impact is applied to a front pillar, a front door can forcibly be moved transversely outwardly of an automotive vehicle on a side where the door hinge is provided, and in a case where the hinge is disposed in the vicinity of the front pillar, the transversely outward movement of the front door can be made large, whereby the interference of the front pillar with the front door can positively be prevented. Consequently, since the deformation of the front pillar cannot be prevented, the impact applied to the front pillar can effectively be absorbed and reduced.

  • Publication number: 20010002762
Abstract: An outer panel 34 is made thinner than an inner panel 33, and a rear face 34c facing a front door 16 is folded so as to form a valley groove 34d hollowed toward the interior of a tube constituted by the outer panel and the inner panel, whereby when a large magnitude of external force is applied to a front face 34a in a rear ward direction, the outer panel 34 is allowed to be deformed more largely than the inner panel 33 to thereby collapse the valley groove 34d, whereby the rearward travel of the rear face 34c can be reduced.
