  • Patent number: 5638692
Abstract: An air conditioner including an outdoor unit containing a compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger therein, at least one indoor unit having both of an indoor heat exchanger and an electric expansion valve, and a pressure reducing member which is linked to the electric expansion valve in parallel in a refrigerant circuit and serves as resistance to refrigerant flowing therethrough. The valve opening degree of the electric expansion valve of the indoor unit when a room heating operation is stopped is set to be smaller than the valve opening degree of the electric expansion valve of the indoor unit when the room heating operation is conducted, and the resistance value of the pressure reducing member is set to be smaller than the resistance value to be provided to the refrigerant in accordance with the valve opening degree of the electric expansion valve when the room heating operation is stopped.
    Type: Grant
