Patent number: 7921816Abstract: A control device for a hydraulically driven fan is provided with a cooling fan which is rotated by a hydraulic motor and carries out ventilation for cooling a working fluid. Further, the control device for the hydraulically driven fan is provided with a sensor for detecting a temperature of the working fluid, and a lever switch for detecting whether a working mechanism actuated by the engine is in a stopped state, by determining whether a working machine lever has been operated. In order that a resonance between the cooling fan and the engine is suppressed, the control device for the hydraulically driven fan further adjusts a rotating speed of the hydraulic motor in correspondence to a detection result by the lever switch. In the case that a stopped state of the working mechanism is detected on the basis of an operation state of the working machine lever by the lever switch, the rotating speed of the hydraulic motor is adjusted.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2006Date of Patent: April 12, 2011Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Kozo Okuda, Keiji Yanagihara, Kouji Hoshi

Patent number: 7751954Abstract: The operating system for a construction machine gives advice on efficient operation to an operator. A specified state value relating to the operational condition of the construction machine, for example, the hydraulic oil pressure or engine speed, is detected (S101), and the frequency distribution of the state value in prescribed time intervals is calculated (S102). The variable range of the state value is classified into plural regions beforehand, and different target values are pre-set for each these regions. For each region, the frequency distribution is compared with the target value (S104, 106, 108, 110, 112), and as a result of the comparison, a applicable message is selected from the prescribed messages and output (S105, 107, 109, 111, 113). The output message may also be selected according to the combination of the comparison results for the plural state values such as the hydraulic oil pressure and engine speed.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2004Date of Patent: July 6, 2010Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Mitsunori Matsuda, Kouji Hoshi

Patent number: 7571775Abstract: To provide a construction machine capable of encouraging an operator to perform the driving and the operation for enhancing fuel efficiency. The construction machine includes information providing means 30 to notify the operator of the information such as the operation and/or an operational method or the like to enhance the fuel efficiency. The present construction machine provides the information by monitor display on a monitor screen 26 that is provided in an operator's cabin 11. When operating machine levers 19 and 20 are positioned at a neutral position, if an engine 40 has the idle revolution number not less than a predetermined time, the information providing means 30 provides the information such as the operation or the like to enhance the fuel efficiency.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2007Date of Patent: August 11, 2009Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Mitsunori Matsuda, Kouji Hoshi

Patent number: 7483814Abstract: Construction machinery is capable of prompting an operator to control or operate the machinery to improve fuel consumption. The fuel consumption per time or the fuel consumption per work amount is measured, and an image showing a difference between the measured fuel consumption per time and a set fuel consumption per time or between the measured fuel consumption per work amount and a set fuel consumption per work amount is displayed on a display device (30). When the measured fuel consumption per time is larger than the preset fuel consumption per time or the measured fuel consumption per work amount is larger than the set fuel consumption per work amount, an indication for prompting the operator to improve the fuel consumption is displayed on the display device (30).Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2004Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Kouji Hoshi, Mitsunori Matsuda
