  • Patent number: 5778926
Abstract: A compact pressure regulating valve makes installation work simple and has a hermetic structure of a stationary value member without a specific seal member. A pressure regulator (201) has a body (203) which includes a fuel inlet (215) and an inner periphery for positioning a stationary valve member (205) in a radial direction. When the movable valve member (208) leaves the stationary valve member (205), the valve opens. Operation of the movable valve member (208) is controlled by a diaphragm which moves to balance the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) and the pressure of a back pressure chamber (213) combined with a biasing pressure of a compression coil spring (214). As a result, the pressure of the pressure chamber (211) can be controlled without a specific sealing member or complex structure. In addition, a pressure regulating valve according to the present invention is compact and easy to install, and has no specific member to seal the stationary valve member.

  • Patent number: 5769061
Abstract: A fuel pump for pumping fuel is provided in a sub-tank suspended in a fuel tank in order to reserve a fuel volume necessary for the fuel pump to be started on an inlet side of the fuel pump in the fuel tank. A fuel level holding member formed so as to rise upward on a suction opening side of the fuel pump reserves the fuel in space of the risen part. Thus, a structure for reserving the fuel volume pumped by the fuel pump in the fuel tank can be obtained with a simple construction.

  • Patent number: 5759392
Abstract: The fixing apparatus for fixing a fuel filter in the present invention comprises a ring portion for fixing fuel filter body securely by utilizing contraction force of resin. The fixing apparatus is made of resin softened by heat. The resin fixing apparatus has ring portion for accommodating and fixing a fuel filter. The inside shape of the ring portion is formed similar and somewhat smaller than the outer cylindrical shape of the fuel filter body. When the ring portion is heated and the resin and resin become flexible, the fuel filter is allowed to be press fitted into the ring portion.

  • Patent number: 5649514
Abstract: A fuel pump and a fuel filter inside a fuel tank and a pressure regulator are supported by a cover closing for an opening of the fuel tank. The fuel sucked by the fuel pump flows into the fuel filter and flows out to the lower side chamber of a filter housing after being filtered by an element. The fuel consumed at the fuel consumption device such as an internal combustion engine is supplied through a fuel passage extending upward from the lower side chamber of the filter housing. On the other hand, water mixed in the fuel is accumulated in the lower side chamber. Especially, glass fibers having high water affinity is mixed in the filter element, so that water is trapped, becomes water drops, and fall to the lower side chamber. Water drops return to the fuel tank with surplus fuel through the pressure regulator disposed at the bottom of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4844793
Abstract: A fuel heating type fuel filter device having a fuel filter assembly and a fuel heating device connected to the fuel filter assembly. A fuel filter element is housed in the fuel filter assembly. The fuel heating device includes a housing having a fuel passage which is connected to the fuel filter assembly. A heater is disposed in the fuel passage to heat the fuel and liquify a solidified wax component contained in the fuel. A wax sensor is provided in the housing to sense the amount of solidified wax contained in the fuel. A switch is housed in the housing and turned ON to supply an electric power to the heater when the amount of solidified wax is more than a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 4539108
Abstract: A fuel filter device for use with diesel engines has a manually operable pump section and a filter container housing therein a filter element and detachably attached to the pump section. The pump section has a manually operable diaphragm facing a chamber having fuel inlet and outlet respectively communicated with a fuel tank and the filter container. The inlet and outlet are provided with valves responsive to the fuel pressure at the inlet and to a pressure variation caused by the diaphragm in the chamber to allow the fuel to flow through the inlet into the chamber and through the outlet into the container in which the fuel flows through the filter element and out of the container to a discharge port of the pump section. An electric heater is disposed in the chamber adjacent to the path of the flow of the fuel in the chamber. A fuel temperature or pressure sensor is disposed downstream of the filter element to provide a signal for the control of the electrical supply to the heater.
