  • Patent number: 6628028
Abstract: A bearing supporter and stator supporter concentric with the bearing supporter and for being mounted with a stator assembly are provided on a motor base. Around the bearing supporter, lower faces of metal terminals are exposed from a bottom face of a base section. The stator assembly is fit on and fixed to the stator supporter. Further the motor base has a stator stopper protruded from the base section, and the stator stopper faces closely a lower end face of an outer wall of the stator assembly in axial direction. This structure allows a motor to be reflow-soldered to a board of an apparatus using this motor, and increases impact-resistance against radial load and thrust load applied to a radial and thrust bearings, a coupling section of the bearing supporter and the motor base, a coupling section of a shaft, a coupling section of the motor and the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6577587
Abstract: A turntable device includes a disc base on the circumference thereof, and the disc base has a hardness more than a given level. The surface of the disc base is roughened at a given level in order to prevent the disc from slipping and adhesion to the disc base. The disc base can compensate surface wobble caused by the disc base. A manufacturing method of the turntable device includes the steps of: a) dripping liquid resin mixed with fine particles on the circumference of the turntable; and b) hardening the resin to form the disc base. The turntable device is good for e.g. CD players, optical disc driving apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 6479914
Abstract: A motor includes a stator and a rotor facing the stator. The rotor has a magnet and an eccentric weight. The magnet is magnetized in a rotational direction and produces driving magnetic field. The eccentric weight is made of the material having a greater specific gravity than the magnet. The magnet shapes in a cylinder and a part of the cylinder is cut away to form a space. The eccentric weight is placed in the space. A rotational area of the magnet and that of the eccentric weight overlap each other. In this structure, rotation of the rotor spins the eccentric weight, thereby producing large vibrations. The eccentric weight is accommodated by a motor housing for the safety. The thin and compact motor is thus obtainable.

  • Patent number: 5973426
Abstract: A small motor for use in an information-communication appratus, an audio-visual apparatus or the like, and a motor for use in a portable pager and a portable telephone or the like for generating vibrations to be transmitted to a human body, the motors being efficient, small and thin in size, and having a high degree of freedom when mounted on an apparatus. To realize the motor as described above, K pieces of (K indicating any integer greater than one) magnetic units (4a, 4b, 4c) having N and S poles magnetized alternately are mounted on a rotor in a circumferential direction, and K magnetic units are axially stacked in K stages and integrally retained on a shaft (6), and this rotor is rotatably supported on a pair of bearings (9a, 9b). Cores (1a, 1b, 1c) each have a salient pole (7a, 7b, 7c) wound around with coils (3a, 3b, 3c) in K stages so as to correspond to each of the magnetic units.

  • Patent number: 5780947
Abstract: A coreless motor has a cylindrical shell of magnetic material, a column-like magnet securely and coaxially positioned in the shell to form a cylindrical clearance therebetween, and a rotor. The rotor includes a cylindrical winding of a coil, arranged coaxially in the clearance, a commutator mechanically supporting one end of the winding and electrically connected with the coil, and a shaft for supporting the commutator. The motor further includes a pair of brushes arranged in contact with the commutator, such that an electric current is supplied via the commutator to the coil. A first bearing is mounted at an end portion of the magnet adjacent the commutator to rotatably support a first portion of the shaft, and a second bearing is mounted adjacent one end of the shell to rotatably support a second portion of said shaft.

  • Patent number: 5252873
Abstract: A DC brushless motor for use in various kinds of electric appliances comprises a rotor portion, and this rotor portion includes a rotating shaft and a cylindrical permanent magnet which is rotated with the shaft. A stator portion is provided opposite to the rotor portion, and includes an armature which is located at the inner side of the cylindrical permanent magnet so as to be opposite to and coaxial with the magnet. The armature is provided with a plurality of coils on its peripheries, and has an annular shape as a whole. A circuit board is disposed to be substantially perpendicular to the axis line of the rotating shaft, and the armature is supported above the circuit board. The rotating shaft terminates substantially at the middle of the height of the motor, thus leaving a space between the rotating shaft and the circuit board.
