  • Patent number: 6450823
Abstract: Cavities capable of housing terminal fittings connected with the ends of electric wires W are provided inside of a housing. A rear assembly is assembled at the rear of the housing. The rear assembly includes a cover formed of a quality of material having no elasticity and a waterproof member formed of a quality of material having elasticity. The waterproof member further includes a wire seal part that surrounds and waterproofs electric wires, and a housing seal part that seals between the two housings. A clearance is provided about a periphery between the outer peripheral face of the wire seal part and the housing seal part. Even if the material of the wire seal part is deformed during the insertion operation of the electric wires, the insertion operation of the electric wires can be smoothly carried out to the last wire because the clearance absorbs the deformation of the entire wire seal part.

  • Patent number: 6199275
Abstract: A steel material having a columnar configuration is subjected to forming by applying finishing processing performed after buster processing and coarse (preliminary) processing to obtain a configuration in which additive metal lump portions are combined with upper and lower portions of a shaft section having a circular cross section. In the following trimming processing, a shaft section is formed to have a configuration in which eliminative metal lump portions are cut and eliminated from right and left sides of the shaft section. In the following sizing processing, plastic flow is allowed to occur from the additive metal lump portions to the eliminative metal lump portions to obtain a shaft section having a circular cross section.

  • Patent number: 6132230
Abstract: To effect water-proofing using a non-water-proof type of female connector, a non-water-proof female connector (20) is fitted with a concave fitting member (12) of a male connector (10), a cover assembly (30) fitting with both the female connector (20) and the concave fitting member (12). The cover assembly (30) is provided with a ring-shaped seal (40) which fits tightly with the rim of the circumference of the fitting member (12), thereby sealing the portions of the two connectors (10) and (20) that fit together. A gel seal (45) is compressed between the cover assembly (30) and the rear face of the female connector (20), this preventing water from entering via terminal attachment holes (21) on the rear face of the female connector (20).

  • Patent number: 6132250
Abstract: A connector is provided to prevent gelatinous seal members from being adhered to terminal fittings and improve the insertion operability of the terminal fittings. The connector includes a housing 11 with a rear surface that is held watertight since clearances between a cover 23 and the housing 11 and between the cover 23 and wires 15 are sealed by gelatinous seal members 40. Thus, female terminal fittings 14 are not brought into contact with the gelatinous seal members 40 while being inserted. Therefore, there is no likelihood that the gelatinous seal members 40 are adhered to the female terminal fittings 40 and that the viscosity resistance thereof acts on the female terminal fittings 14.

  • Patent number: 5208965
Abstract: A method for producing a magnetic head having a head core which includes a first head core half body (22) having a winding groove (22b) at one side surface thereof, a second head core half body (23) having one side surface joined with the side surface of the first body, both half bodies being fixed by mold glass (25) about a joined plane thereof via a gap spacer (24) of material having a melting point higher than the mold glass, and one end surface (20a) normal to the joined plane and shaped into an arc to become a tape sliding surface having a magnetic gap at the joined plane. The first and second head core half bodies are formed from pole shaped bodies (26, 27) having long grooves (26a, 26b, 26c, 27a) and notches (26d, 27b) cut therein after which the pole shaped bodies are joined together by abutting the notched faces (24, 26B, 27B) together and joining them by molding melted glass in the notches (26d, 27b) and groove (26c).
