  • Patent number: 6437538
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring battery voltage is provided that can detect battery voltage with high accuracy, and also can be miniaturized with cost and noise reduced. The apparatus comprises: a capacitor which is charged to the voltage of each module, switches which connect and disconnect this capacitor and the module, a voltage follower which outputs the voltage across the capacitor, and switches which connect and disconnect the voltage follower and the capacitor. For the aforementioned switches, photo MOSFETs are used. Furthermore, to prevent discharge from the capacitor, a voltage follower is installed. Therefore, by using not a complicated circuit but inexpensive and simple elements, a low cost and miniaturized apparatus for measuring battery voltage is realized.

  • Publication number: 20020103586
Abstract: A motorcycle suspension system, which permits, interrelated front and rear shock absorbers of different physical characteristics and having different loading factors. However, an interrelated control is provided for balancing these differences and for providing good dive and squat control without bouncing. In addition, an improved arrangement for testing the cylinder of a hydraulic shock absorber is disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20020070522
Abstract: A number of embodiments of four-wheeled vehicle suspension systems have interrelated front and rear shock absorbers so as to provide good control under normal suspension travel as well as resistance toward leaning, pitching, diving and squatting. In each embodiment, the normal fluid dampers having only a single shock absorber valve therein are interrelated with pressure controls that comprise four hydraulic cylinder portions which communicate with each other through various paired arrangements so as to provide this control and simplification of damping.

  • Publication number: 20020056969
Abstract: A number of embodiments of reinforcing arrangements for vehicle bodies wherein the suspension for the ground engaging element is transmitted to the vehicle body and reinforcement is provided in this area. Rather than providing rigid reinforcement, as with the prior art, various forms of damping arrangements are disclosed including those which permit different damping in one direction from the other and utilizing either elastic or hydraulic viscous type dampers.

  • Publication number: 20020019213
Abstract: A sitting position of a vehicle occupant in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle is detected, an outlet close to the sitting position of the occupant from plural outlets and is selected based on the detected sitting position, and air is blown out from the selected outlet toward the occupant's sitting position. Thus, since an outlet close to the occupant's sitting position is selected, it becomes easier for air to reach the vehicle occupant to sufficiently cool or warm the occupant with a small amount of blown out air.

  • Publication number: 20010029162
Abstract: In a vehicle air conditioner, each of cool air outlets is provided at an upper side of each seat at second and third seat lines from a most front seat so that cool air from an air conditioning unit is blown from the cool air outlets toward upper sides of the seats, respectively, and each of warm air outlets is provided at a lower side of each seat at the second and third seat lines so that warm air from the air conditioning unit is blown from the warm air outlets toward lower sides of the seats, respectively. In addition, each of suction ports is provided for each corresponding seat at the second and third seat lines so that air inside a passenger compartment is sucked from the suction ports to be returned to the air conditioning unit.

  • Publication number: 20010024005
Abstract: A vehicle is carried by a number of supporting members, such as wheels. Movement between the supporting members and the vehicle body is controlled by respective dampers. Several interrelationships between and among the dampers are disclosed. A flow regulator is provided to augment damping forces under a variety of operating conditions.

  • Patent number: 5969309
Abstract: A boxlike casing has an opening partly formed on a front wall and a plurality of stationary contacts provided on an inner bottom surface. A slider is installed in the casing and slidable in a predetermined slide direction. The slider has a rod guide portion provided at a predetermined portion and spring receive portions provided at left and right ends. A rod is installed in the rod guide portion and slidable in a push direction normal to the slide direction. The rod has an operating lever protruding forward from the opening of the casing and a push portion extending rearward. At least one elastic contact piece is fixed to at least one of lower surfaces of the slider and the rod for electrically connecting or disconnecting the stationary contacts. Two L-shaped springs have proximal portions held by spring holders. The first arms have distal ends supported by spring receive portions and mesial portions received by arm receive portions.

  • Patent number: 5717310
Abstract: A power supply control device for an electric vehicle capable of reducing the power consumption in a battery monitor assembly adapted for monitoring a residual electric charge in a main battery 4. In response to an operation which causes increasing or decreasing the residual charge in the main battery 4, a start-up unit 200 produces a start-up demand pulse P3. Upon receiving the start-up demand pulse P3, a power supply controller circuit 60 closes a switch 59 to allow the power from a sub battery 5 to be supplied the battery monitor assembly 100. When the battery monitor assembly 100 is activated, its power supply maintaining means 102 delivers a self-hold signal S4 to maintain the switch 59 being closed. The battery monitor assembly 100 keeps monitoring the residual charge in the main battery 4 while it is energized by the sub battery 5.
