    Abstract: A slot-in type disk apparatus includes: (1) a base body, (2) a traverse base provided on the base body, (3) a spindle motor held by the traverse base and rotating a disk, (4) a loading motor provided on the base body, (5) a traverse cam member for displacing a location of the traverse base with respect to the base body, and (6) a spindle cam member for displacing a location of the spindle motor with respect to the traverse base. The spindle motor is biased toward the traverse base by a resilient member. The disk is loaded on the disk apparatus and moved to a recording/replaying position, as a result of moving the traverse cam member and the spindle cam member correlatively in the horizontal direction by driving the loading motor and moving the traverse base and the spindle motor upward and downward.

    Abstract: A chucking method of a disk apparatus comprising a chassis outer sheath including a base body 10 and a lid 130, in which a front surface of the chassis outer sheath is formed with a disk inserting opening 11 into which a disk is directly inserted, a traverse 30 provided on the base body 10 holds a spindle motor 31A and a pickup 32, a slider mechanism 51 is disposed on one end side of the traverse 30, the slider mechanism 51 includes a cam mechanism which moves one end of the traverse 30 toward and away from the base body 10, and a slider cam mechanism 51 which moves the traverse 30 in an inserting/discharging direction of the disk, the other end of the traverse 30 is supported on the base body 10 by a fixing cam 34A, 34B, 36A, 36B, and the traverse 30 is moved by the slider cam mechanism 51 in the inserting/discharging direction of the disk and with this, the fixing cam moves the other end of the traverse 30 toward and away from the base body 10.

    Abstract: In a slot-in type disk apparatus, when a disk is inserted into and ejected from the disk apparatus, it is necessary to provide a certain clearance for lowering a spindle motor supported by a traverse base and inserting the disk, but when the disk apparatus is to be reduced in thickness, it is necessary to minimize a distance for vertically moving the traverse base. The disk apparatus comprises spindle cam members 30A and 30B for moving a spindle motor 1 downwardly with respect to a traverse base 2, and the spindle cam members 30A and 30B are driven by a loading motor 6. Therefore, even if the vertically moving distance of the traverse base 2 is minimized, a clearance for inserting a disk 400 can be secured and thus, it is possible to further reduce the thickness of the disk apparatus.
