  • Publication number: 20140344860
Abstract: A broadcast image output device includes: a reception unit that receives a broadcast; an output unit that outputs a plurality of home screens in each of which a broadcast image relating to the broadcast received by the reception unit or an app image is allocatable to each section of a display area, the broadcast image and the app image being selectable by user operation; and a control unit that selects one of the home screens in accordance with preset setting information to cause the output unit to output the selected home screen as an initial screen that is ready to accept the user operation and appears after the broadcast image output device is turned on.

  • Patent number: 8817187
Abstract: In a launcher display state, a launcher image is displayed on a screen. The launcher image includes a display frame. An application image, which has been reduced based on application video data at the time of startup previously stored in a main memory, is displayed in the display frame. In an intermediate display state, an intermediate launcher image is displayed on the screen. The intermediate launcher image includes an intermediate frame. In the intermediate frame, an application image, which has been reduced based on the application video data at the time of startup previously stored in the main memory, is displayed in the intermediate frame. In an application display state, an application image during startup is displayed on the whole screen of a monitor.

  • Patent number: 8751237
Abstract: A sound control section (114) selects and outputs a text-to-speech item from items included in program information multiplexed with a broadcast signal; and starts or stops outputting the text-to-speech item, based on request from a remote controller control section (113). A sound generation section (115) converts the text-to-speech item to a sound signal. A speaker (109) reproduces the sound signal. The sound control section (114) compares each item of information about a program currently selected by user's operation of the remote controller, with each item of information about the previous program selected just before the user's operation. If an item of the currently selected program information is the same as the corresponding item of the operation-prior program information, and text-to-speech processing has been already completed for the item after the last change in the item, the sound control section (114) stops outputting the item to the sound generation section (115).
