Patent number: 10080701Abstract: A walker is disclosed providing motorized height adjustment and having U-shaped lower and upper frames, each with left and right members. Both the left and right lower and upper member front ends mutually connect. Both frames are horizontally oriented, with the upper frame generally above the lower frame, which includes wheels. Generally vertical left and right double scissor mechanisms interposed between the upper and lower members maintain the alignment of the upper and lower frames. At least one powered, user-controllable linear actuator with a pneumatic lift spring and position memory raises and lowers the upper frame. The upper frame has three positions: the raised position, ready for a person to use; the lowered position, ready for a person to sit or stand, and collapsed position for storage and transportation. A width adjustment mechanism spreads or contracts the rear ends of the members to best fit any size person.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2017Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Inventor: Kourosh Bagheri

Patent number: 10080700Abstract: A harness for lifting a person in conjunction with a walker apparatus includes a seat portion made with flexible webbing. Two flexible, adjustable back straps are each fixed with a rear edge of the seat portion proximate one of two opposing lateral edges. Two flexible, adjustable front straps are each fixed with a front edge of the seat portion proximate one of the lateral edges. The back straps and front straps each include a connection mechanism for fixing with the walker apparatus. As such, with the harness under the person either in a prone position or a seated position, the back straps extend up the person's back and around his shoulders such that the back straps may be pulled forward and the walker apparatus raised so as to lift the person from the prone position into the seated position, or from the seated position into a standing position.Type: GrantFiled: September 21, 2017Date of Patent: September 25, 2018Inventor: Kourosh Bagheri

Publication number: 20160324716Abstract: An apparatus having an upper frame adapted to at least partially encircle a person and including a lower frame and two double scissor mechanisms for coupling the upper frame to the lower frame, wherein the distance between the upper frame and the lower frame can be varied by adjusting the double scissor mechanisms, and the walker is raised or lowered. Scissor lift assemblies housed in the lower frame, each powered by a motor or compressor, raise and lower each double scissor mechanism.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 24, 2016Publication date: November 10, 2016Applicant: Entropy Enterprises, LLCInventor: Kourosh Bagheri

Publication number: 20020193313Abstract: A method for increasing the efficacy of chemotherapy in the treatment of cancer. Two nutritional solutions are provided to the tumor in an alternating manner. The first nutritional solution is formulated to inhibit tumor growth and the second nutritional solution is formulated to stimulate tumor growth. The tumor is denied all other external sources of nutrition. When an elevated population of the tumor cells are determined to be synchronously in the S phase of the cell cycle, chemotherapy treatment is begun. In an alternative embodiment, tumors in vitro are monitored to identify which nutrients are preferentially used by the tumor cells. The first and second solutions are then formulated based on the nutrients so identified.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2001Publication date: December 19, 2002Inventor: Kourosh Bagheri
