  • Patent number: 6204774
Abstract: A system provides service information through a restricted broadcasting using an FM teletext multiplex broadcasting. When providing a reception authorization code that enables each receiver terminal to receive the service information, terminal unique information such as a production number is stored in a user file at the provider's end, such as an FM broadcast station. Further, a processing circuit encodes reception authorization information showing an expiration date of a reception authorization period or contract contents after appending an error detection sign using the terminal unique information, which is notified to the user via mail of the like. Upon input of the notified reception authorization code through an input device, a processing circuit at the receiver terminal's end decodes the reception authorization code using the terminal unique information stored in its memory and corrects an error.

  • Patent number: 5890053
Abstract: An FM multiplex broadcasting receiving apparatus includes a decoder for decoding multiplexed data from the received multiplex broadcasting, a CPU for writing the decoded content to RAM, a display unit for displaying the content stored in the RAM, an auto-mode switch for switching method of display of the information displayed on the display unit, and an audio signal reproducing circuit for selectively reproducing only the audio information from FM multiplex broadcasting. When the auto-mode switch is off, display corresponding to the audio sound reproduced by the audio signal reproducing circuit is given on the display unit. If the auto-mode switch is on, the display unit successively displays the contents of the information stored in the RAM, regardless of the audio sound reproduced by the audio signal reproducing circuit. Namely, by turning on the auto-mode switch, the user can see all the information stored, without any operation.

  • Patent number: 5610774
Abstract: In an audio sound recording/reproducing apparatus, instruction information related to a document is recorded in a recording region of a semiconductor memory together with the document. In the semiconductor memory, flags related to a document portion and an instruction portion, and the addresses of the document and the instruction portions are provided. At the time of reproduction, the instruction portion is reproduced prior to reproduction of the document portion. When the content of the semiconductor memory is stored in a built-in memory in the apparatus, the instruction portion is stored before the document portion is stored. Since the instruction portion is reproduced prior to the document portion at the time of reproduction, the user does not have to retrieve the instruction portion.

  • Patent number: 5499316
Abstract: A recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing sound using a semiconductor memory as a recording medium, the apparatus including index recording means for storing an index having retrieval information for retrieving an arbitrary position of recorded sound and positional information for indicating a memory address to be retrieved by the retrieval information; and retrieving and reproducing means for retrieving the index containing a specified retrieval information to reproduce the sound from the memory address indicated by the positional information of the index.

  • Patent number: 5239428
Abstract: A magnetic tape recording/reproducing apparatus wherein an area consisting of a predetermined number of successive tracks on a magnetic tape constitutes a unit record area, the unit record area being partitioned into at least two divisional record areas each consisting of successive tracks so that plural systems of data are allocated to the divisional record areas for being separately recorded therein for individual systems, wherein together with first identification data indicative of the order of track arrangement and second identification data for identifying the divisional record area in which the track is included are recorded, as third identification data, first identification data for a track located at the beginning of the divisional record area in which the track is included.
