  • Patent number: 5295859
Abstract: An electric connector is comprised of: a housing; a clamper for clamping a multicore cable formed with a plurality of sheathed cable elements bound by an outer jacket, a predetermined length of the outer jacket at an end thereof being removed; and a contact holder accommodated and held in the housing, a portion of the contact holder projecting from the housing being adapted to be inserted into a mating connector. The clamper includes a clamper body for clamping the outer jacket and a wing-like portion projecting radially from the clamper body. Contacts are fitted in the contact holder in such a manner as to be respectively connected to tips of core wires which are exposed with portions of respective sheaths of the plurality of sheathed cable elements removed.

  • Patent number: 5160275
Abstract: An electrical connector is provided which, when attached to a printed circuit board, will not cause removal of a cream solder that has been applied to the circuit board, and which will not flaw the surface of circuit portions. The connector has a resilient arm which undergoes elastic deformation to flex contacts perpendicularly away from the surface of the circuit portions when the circuit board is inserted into the connector. The resilient arm is restored to its original shape when the connector has been correctly fitted on the circuit board, thereby allowing the contacts to contact predetermined circuits. In another embodiment, the resilient arm is replaced by a frame member which is urged into the connector body by the circuit board. This causes the contacts to part perpendicularly from the surface of the circuit portions.

  • Patent number: 5094627
Abstract: A printed circuit board mounted connector includes an insulating body and a shield plate. The insulating body incorporating contact terminals and adapted to be mounted on a printed circuit board. The shield plate covers a front surface and both side surfaces of the insulating body. The shield plate has bent portions which are formed by partially cutting and bending a shield plate portion corresponding to the front surface of the insulating body and extend toward the insulating body to define a substantially circular opening for receiving annular shield contact terminals of a mating connector, and shield springs which are formed by partially cutting and bending shield plate portions corresponding to both the side walls of the insulating body and extend away from the insulating body. The shield springs are brought into contact with a ground plate extending in a direction perpendicular to a surface of the printed circuit board.

  • Patent number: 4725698
Abstract: A connector device is disclosed which can branch or terminate signal lines for making a mutual connection among a plurality of units. The connector device includes switches between signal line connection terminals so that the connector may serve as both a branch connector and a strap connector. A hook is provided on a body case of the connector device and usable in interlock with the switch. A groove engageable with the hook is formed on a connector element case for external circuit connection so that through the selective engagement of the hook with the groove the element case is prevented from being inadvertently detached from the body case. During the detachment of the element case, the contact pin is placed in a short-circuited state at all times. A terminating connector device is also disclosed which is comprised of a combination of a connector body with first and second connector elements. The connector body includes first and second pairs of terminal.
