    Abstract: A defect detection system for detecting a defect of an aircraft component object includes an image processing unit configured to extract, from an original image of the object including a defect point, a defect candidate region based on luminance of the image, and calculate a feature amount of the defect candidate region based on a difference in luminance between the defect candidate region and surrounding regions; a setting unit configured to associate the feature amount for an original image for learning with information about the defect point to set a defect feature amount range or a non-defect feature amount range; and a defect detection unit configured to determine, based on the feature amount for a target original image in which a defect point is not detected yet, the defect and non-defect feature amount ranges, whether the defect candidate region in the target original image is a defect point.
