Abstract: This game controller includes a housing, and a directional pad including a pad top configured to receive an input operation and at least partially exposed from an opening provided to the housing, and a cross-shaped plate member provided being covered by the pad top. In the housing, an optical sensor configured to detect movement of the cross-shaped plate member performed by the input operation, a cushion portion configured to inhibit movement of the cross-shaped plate member according to the input operation, and a stopper portion configured to limit movement of the cross-shaped plate member according to the input operation, are provided. In the housing, the cushion portion and the stopper portion are arranged in an order of the cushion portion and then the stopper portion from a center of the cross-shaped plate member toward the optical sensor.
