  • Patent number: 6301938
Abstract: An automatic fabric-density adjusting device is provided and includes a detecting device for detecting the rotary movement of a knitting machine, a driving mechanism for driving a yarn positive feeding device in response to the signal detected by said detecting device, a controller for controlling the driving mechanism to cause said yarn feeding device to feed a requisite yarn volume for the desired fabric, a fabric tension sensor for detecting variations in the tension of the knit fabric and signaling the controller to vary the take-up of the fabric accordingly.

  • Patent number: 6145346
Abstract: A circular knitting machine is provided and includes a cylinder, a gear ring supporting and rotating the cylinder, a cam holder, a cam ring supporting the cam holder and a bed supporting the cam ring and the gear ring, and further including an oil collection system for controlling and collecting leaked oil to prevent the oil from staining the fabric being knit. The oil collection system includes a protrusion-free lower surface on said gear ring that is inclined outwardly and downwardly, a chamber in said bed for containing machine parts, an oil collecting cavity in the bed underneath the inclined surface of the gear ring and a reclamation pipe for reclaiming collected oil.

  • Patent number: 5454236
Abstract: Fabric knitted upon a circular knitting machine and conducted downwardly by delivery rolls to a fabric cutter and thence to a fabric winding reel is prevented from being recaptured by the delivery rolls, and is also prevented from becoming adhered to a guide plate due to the presence of static electricity. Recapture of the cut end of the fabric is prevented by a presser that presses the fabric against one of the delivery rolls, and prevention of adherence of the fabric to the guide plate is prevented by alternating ridges and channels and/or anti-static material upon the face of the plate that confronts the reel.

  • Patent number: 5381676
Abstract: A fabric take-up apparatus for a circular knitting machine includes a set of delivery rolls for flattening and delivering the flattened fabric to take-up means which winds the flattened fabric into a roll, sensing means for sensing the tension in the fabric and for generating electrical signals indicative of fluctuations in tension from a predetermined, desired tension in the fabric, variable speed drive means for driving the delivery rolls, and control means for controlling the variable speed drive means responsive to the electrical signals generated by the tension sensing means.

  • Patent number: 5285663
Abstract: Knitted fabric produced by a circular knitting machine passes downwardly to a fabric winding unit that rotates synchronously with the knitting unit and that includes fabric delivery rolls and a fabric winding shaft that are driven by rotation of the unit. The winding unit also includes a fabric guide that guides the fabric onto the shaft, a fabric cutter that cuts the fabric after a preselected quantity of it has been wound upon the roll, a fabric receiving table, and a thruster that removes the wound fabric from the center shaft and discharges the fabric onto the fabric receiving table and thereafter from the machine. A central processing unit and associated sensor and switch elements monitor and/or control operation of the knitting machine and winding unit.

  • Patent number: 4502524
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing a metallic laminar composite material utilizes a pressure tank, a ladle, and a dip tube for transferring molten metal into a mold which has a metallic plate suspended within it. The molten metal is supplied by the ladle and the dip tube in such a way that slag and scum existing on the surface of the molten metal are not introduced into the mold. Prior to introducing the molten metal into the mold, the mold is purged with an inert gas to prevent oxidation of the surface of the metallic plate. The mold is made of freely movable carbon segments which permit easy assembly and disassembly of the mold for varying the size of the molding chamber.
