  • Patent number: 4765786
Abstract: A guide accessory for hand-held electric drills having straight sides. A drill is set up for use simply by inserting it into the guide, where it fits snugly and slides linearly. An enlarged foot section holds the guide perpendicular to the work surface. The foot is abbreviated on one side, permitting the guide to be used close to obstacles. An adjustable stop facilitates drilling holes to precise depths. The stop assembly is also used to tilt the guide for drilling holes at various indicated angles. A stepped "v" block at the bottom of the guide facilitates drilling centered holes in round stock, corners, and the edges of boards. A resilient, transparent material is used in construction to permit viewing the drilling process while protecting the user's eyes. Holes are provided for ventilating the drill and for hanging the guide on a workshop pegboard.

  • Patent number: 4568086
Abstract: An educational game system wherein a random selector of mathematical problems is used in playing various popular board games, simultaneously providing drill in the multiplication tables. Players must determine missing answer numbers which then dictate game piece movements. Appropriately formulated problem sets, together with dice doubles indicia, permit the random selector device to substitute for dice, spinners, and other random selection means normally used in these games. Changeable problem sets provide drill in particular multiplication tables. Usage procedure facilitates table memorization. The problems each have a missing number in which the majority are not full two digit numbers but the first or second digit of the product or one of the factors. The average value of the missing numbers for a set being less than ten. Five embodiments are disclosed, employing different random selection devices.

  • Patent number: 4508344
Abstract: A spinner having easily changeable indicia and an upper section which can be turned for viewing the indicia from different directions. The indicia are printed on two-sided, symmetrically shaped cards, each having a large hole in the center and evenly spaced notches along its outer edge. A card is mounted by placing it on top of the device. The central hole accommodates the spinner's pointer, allowing disks to be changed without removing the pointer. When a disk is mounted, some of its notches mate with raised tabs on the upper section, holding it in place. The remaining notches permit access to finger notches in the upper section which facilitate turning it, in a fashion similar to telephone dialing. When the upper section is turned, the spinner's pointer turns together with the indicia.
