    Abstract: A collar for a tracheostomy tube, a method of securing a tracheostomy tube to the neck of a patient, and a medical device including a collar for the tracheostomy tube. In one exemplary embodiment, the collar includes a securing portion, a protection portion, and an attachment portion. The securing portion secures the tracheostomy tube to the neck of the patient. The protection portion extends from the securing portion and covers a portion of a flange of the tracheostomy tube. The protection portion is also positioned between the tracheostomy tube flange and the neck skin of the patient when the securing portion is attached to the tracheostomy tube. The attachment portion attaches the securing portion to the tracheostomy tube.
