    Abstract: The design described here is a new display for hand-held consumer electronic devices. The display has a mounting member, or puck, that is lifted from rest on a display surface. The puck carries a rechargeable power storage device for the hand-held device. The power storage device charges when the puck is at rest but is disconnected and powers the hand-held when the puck is lifted. The puck also carries a wireless device that outputs a security alarm signal for the purpose of indicating a theft event.
