  • Patent number: 9200405
Abstract: The invention relates to cord (20) comprising a number of filaments twisted together. The peripheral surface of the cord (20) is at least partially coated with an adhesion promoting coating (24). The adhesion promoting coating (24) comprises at least a first layer comprising a silicon based coating, a titanium based coating, a zirconium based coating or a combination thereof. The invention further relates to a composite material comprising such a cord (20) embedded in a polymer material. Furthermore the invention relates to a method to manufacture such a cord (20).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 11, 2009
Date of Patent: December 1, 2015
    Assignee: NV BEKAERT SA
Inventors: Tom Baekelandt, Roland Groenen, Kris Van Hege
  • Publication number: 20120070576
Abstract: The invention relates to a coated porous medium comprising metal particles. The metal particles define a free area surface S. The free area surface S is substantially completely coated with a coating layer. The coating layer is substantially conformal, substantially uniform in composition and has substantially the same thickness over the whole free area surface. The invention further relates to the use of a coated medium as filter medium and to a method of manufacturing a coated medium.

  • Publication number: 20100260994
Abstract: The invention relates to a substrate being at least partially coated with a coating comprising at least a first layer and a second layer. The first layer and the second layer comprise amorphous hydrogenated carbon. The first layer has a first Eo4 optical band gap and the second layer has a second Eo4 optical band gap. The said second Eo4 optical band gap is smaller than said first Eo4 optical band gap. The invention further relates to a method to deposit such a coating on a substrate.

  • Patent number: 6811702
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and installation for treating a polluted aqueous liquid having a COD value caused by organic compounds present therein and a BOD/COD ratio smaller than 0.2. To reduce the COD value, the polluted aqueous liquid is percolated through a packed filter bed (7) of a carrier material, in particular of activated carbon, which is colonised with aerobic bacteria and which forms an adsorbent for at least part of said organic compounds. To provide a thin, fully aerated biofilm of bacteria on the carrier material so that no oxygen has to be dissolved under pressure in the liquid, the filter bed is kept at the most partially submerged in the liquid percolating therethrough.
    Type: Grant
