  • Publication number: 20260116268
Abstract: A vehicle includes a vehicle floor and a vehicle seat mounted to the vehicle floor. The vehicle seat includes a seat bottom rotatable about a rotational axis between a deployed position and a raised position. The seat includes two legs fixed to the seat bottom and spaced from each other along the cross-seat axis. The legs are moveable with the seat bottom between the deployed position and the raised position. The vehicle seat includes a beam fixed directly to the legs and extending along the cross-seat axis from one leg to the other leg. The beam moves with the seat bottom between the deployed position and the raised position. During certain vehicle impacts, the beam counteracts downward force of the pelvis of the occupant to control the kinematics of the occupant, including controlling the kinematics of the occupant relative to a lap belt of a seatbelt.

  • Publication number: 20260048647
Abstract: A vehicle includes a frame, a battery, and blockers. The frame has rails defining a space therebetween. The battery is disposed within the space. The battery is secured to the frame via a floating connection. The battery is configured to store and provide electrical power to propel the vehicle. The blockers protrude inward from the rails and into the space. The blockers are disposed along an edge of the battery. The blockers are spaced-apart from the edge of the battery. The blockers are operable to engage the edge of the battery to limit forward movement of the battery in response to deformation of the frame. The floating connection facilitates limited movement of the battery within the space such that the battery is movable toward the blockers but is prevented from contacting the blockers while the frame is in a non-deformed state.

  • Publication number: 20250368276
Abstract: A vehicle includes a frame having a longitudinal rail and a structural member supported by the frame. The structural member includes a front bracket joined to the rail and having an arm that extends outwardly away from the rail. The structural member further includes a curved elongate member having a first end connected to an outer end of the arm and extending rearwardly therefrom to a second end that is spaced from the rail. A rear bracket of the structural member is connected to the rail and defines a slot that receives the second end of the curved elongate member therein. A width of the slot is wider than a width of the second end such that the second end can slide rearwardly within the slot.

  • Patent number: 10094737
Abstract: A test apparatus includes a linear motion generator, an airbag, a plate, a platform, an anthropomorphic test device, and a crushable member. The airbag is spaced from the linear motion generator. The plate is moveable by the linear motion generator toward the airbag, and the platform is fixed relative to the plate. The anthropomorphic test device is adjacent the airbag and includes an end coupled to the platform. The crushable member is disposed between the plate and the platform, and the crushable member is deformable by the plate. During operation of the test apparatus, the linear motion generator moves the plate into the crushable member to slow movement of the anthropomorphic device toward the airbag. The crushable member crushes to simulate the forces on the anthropomorphic test device from a vehicle side impact.
