Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a device and method for continuous tracking of the performance of an internet or other network connection and maintaining an inventory of devices connected to the network, while preserving user privacy and security and avoiding modifications to the network infrastructure. A support system is also described comprising modules for reporting, analyzing historical data, and alerting users to problematic network conditions.
