Abstract: A propelled-pivoting motion base with rotating disc and method for dissipating inertia as means to provide unlimited motion to an occupant on a horizontal plane of movement during the simulation process. The vehicle chassis base is propelled and steered using two main drives which pivot about the operating area freely and disperse the inertia of the center mass over a wide area. A rotating disc sits atop the vehicle chassis base with 360 degrees of rotation propelled by a third drive assembly. The vehicle chassis base and rotating disc operate in conjunction with each other to provide motion to an occupant in any direction on a horizontal plane of movement during the simulation process. The direction and range of movement of the center mass is not mechanically limited and so the inertia can be physically dispersed over a wider operating area using the same path of motion as it occurs in real-time.
