  • Patent number: 9651293
Abstract: A cooled storing system for photo catalytic decomposition of ethylene is a reefer container or a refrigerator with a cooling unit including an evaporator, the surface of which is at least partly coated in TiO2. A UV-source is arranged so that light emitted therefrom falls on the surface provided with TiO2, whereby an active surface for photo catalysis is provided. When in use, an airflow created inside the system passes over the photocatalytic surface permitting decomposition of organic compounds such as ethylene present therein.

  • Publication number: 20170042170
Abstract: The present invention relates to a reefer container for transporting and storing a plurality of produce at a predetermined temperature, the produce generating ethylene and other organic compounds during transport and storage, said reefer container comprising a substantially closed room having an atmosphere, a cooling device for maintaining the room at the predetermined temperature, and an atmosphere-controlling system (14) for controlling the atmosphere in the room of the reefer container, the atmosphere-controlling system comprising a system inlet (161) and a system outlet (162), a flow direction (165) of an airstream being defined between the system inlet and the system outlet, a fan (160) arranged at the system outlet, an ethylene reduction unit (100) for reducing a content of ethylene of the atmosphere in the room, a catalyst unit (150) arranged downstream the ethylene reduction unit, the catalyst unit being adapted to reduce a content of ozone generated during the reduction of ethylene, the catalyst unit

  • Publication number: 20140123688
Abstract: The invention relates to a cooled storing system for photo catalytic decomposition of ethylene. The system is preferably a reefer container or a refrigerator and it comprises a cooling unit with an evaporator, and means for providing airflow inside the system. The system further comprises at least one UV-source and TiO2 coated on at least part of the surface of the evaporator. The UV-source is arranged so that light emitted therefrom falls on said surface provided with TiO2 whereby an active surface for photo catalysis is provided. The invention further relates to a method for cleaning the air inside a cooled storing system, said method comprising photo catalytic decomposition of organic compounds contained in a cooled storing system.

  • Publication number: 20120070334
Abstract: System for detecting and reducing ethylene (1) in a storage room (2) or a reefer container (2), comprising a sensing reaction chamber (10) and a ethylene/ozone reaction chamber (19) in fluid communication with the storage room (2), in which ozone and air from the storage room (2) is brought into reaction with each other, an ozone generator (6) and light detecting means (8) for detecting light emitted via reaction between the ozone and ethylene, said light detection means producing detection signals (12), processing means (9) and airstream means (4) for forcing an airstream through the system (1). The system (1) is adapted such that ozone excessive from the reaction between the ozone and the ethylene in the sensing reaction chamber (10) with the light detection means (8) is lead into the airstream to the ethylene/ozone reaction chamber (19), and that the ozone generator (6) is controlled by the feedback signal (13).

  • Patent number: 7741950
Abstract: The invention relates to a humidity sensor comprising a sensor element, a molding, which preferably consists of a thermoplastic material or a two-component polyurethane, epoxy or silicone casting and which is adapted to adhere to the sensor element, a dead-space volume, which is arranged in connection with the sensor element and which is covered by a membrane. The membrane is attached to an external surface of the molding and is adapted to protect the sensor element from exposure to ambient moisture and dirt and allowing diffusion of ambient air gas molecules, like water vapor, into the dead-space volume. The dead-space volume is less than 100 mm3.

  • Patent number: 7171821
Abstract: Some constructions of the present invention provide a vent arrangement for a transport temperature control unit including a refrigeration circuit and being mountable on a transport container having a load space. The vent arrangement can include a duct communicating between the load space and atmosphere and extending across at least a portion of the refrigeration circuit, a shutter located along the duct and movable with respect to the duct between a closed position, in which the shutter prevents air flow through the duct, and a plurality of opened positions, and a sensor positioned adjacent to the shutter and operable to record shutter position data.
