    Abstract: A method for magnetic sorting of mammalian sperm cells having damaged membranes is described. In an embodiment of the invention, carboxyl-group functionalized magnetic particles are conjugated to propidium iodide, the resulting composition is mixed with a sample of sperm cells, and sperm cells bound to magnetic particles are separated by magnetic-activated cell sorting.
