  • Publication number: 20240061163
Abstract: A light therapy wearable includes a fabric panel, at least two side-emitting optical fibers, a red light source and an infrared (IR) light source. The at least two side-emitting optical fibers are affixed to or held against the fabric panel. Each of the side-emitting optical fibers includes a core being made from a synthetic polymeric material. The red light source is configured to emit light having a wavelength of about 660 nm and is optically connected with a red light side-emitting optical fiber of the at least two side-emitting optical fibers. The IR light source is configured to emit light having a wavelength of about 830 nm and less than 850 nm. The IR light source is optically connected with an IR light side-emitting optical fiber of the at least two side-emitting optical fibers.

  • Patent number: 11904178
Abstract: A light therapy wearable includes a fabric panel and a side-emitting light tube affixed to or held against the fabric panel. The side-emitting optical light tube includes a side-emitting optical fiber and a jacket surrounding the side-emitting optical fiber. The side-emitting optical fiber includes a core and cladding surrounding the core. The core is made from a synthetic polymeric material. The jacket is made from a transparent or translucent material and has a durometer of at least 65 A and an outer diameter at least seven times a core diameter of the side-emitting optical fiber.

  • Publication number: 20240024696
Abstract: A light therapy wearable includes a fabric panel, a light-transmissive pad and a side-emitting optical fiber. The fabric panel includes an inner surface that when the wearable is worn is configured to face a wearer's skin. The light-transmissive pad connects with the fabric panel and at least partially covering the inner surface. The light-transmissive pad can be made from a light-transmissive material having a durometer of at least 50 A. At least a portion of the side-emitting optical fiber can sandwiched between the inner surface of the fabric panel and the light-transmissive pad.

  • Publication number: 20230256258
Abstract: An insole for an article of footwear includes an insole support member and a side-emitting optical fiber fixed with respect to the insole support member. The insole support member is made from a cushioning material and includes a top surface and a bottom surface. The side-emitting optical fiber is configured to project radiation having a therapeutic wavelength along the length of and outwardly through a side of the side-emitting optical fiber and toward a wearer’s foot when the insole is positioned in the article of footwear and the article of footwear is worn. At least a majority of an uppermost surface of the side-emitting optical fiber is disposed beneath a foot-contacting surface that is in contact with the wearer’s foot when the insole is positioned in the article of footwear and the article of footwear is worn.
