Each flange is configured to be received by a corresponding one of the apertures of the first piece in a first orientation. Each flange is also configured to be secured within the associated aperture in a second orientation. The first and second pieces, in aggregate, substantially conform to a contour of a wearer.

A writing instrument may be inserted into the stand through an opening to a chamber or reservoir, which in various embodiments can be flat or slanted and may extend straight downward or at an angle downward. In various embodiments, surfaces of the upper surface, upper element, and top surface can be flat, angled, curved, or a combination thereof.

Abstract: A pen or other writing instrument has a cap with a bulb that is relatively heavy compared to the barrel of the pen and has a larger diameter. The bulb has an approximately oval outer shape and may include a tube for receiving the pen or an outer ring. When placed or tossed onto a desk or table, the cap causes the pen to remain standing, where it is easily located. The cap can be formed as a single piece.
