  • Patent number: 11120484
Abstract: Methods and systems to search a data source based on compatibility with an application. The system receives a first query that includes keywords and identifies at least one keyword in the first query as application information. The application information describes a first application. Next the system infers remaining keywords in the first query as item information that describe a first item that is sought on a network-based marketplace. The first item is a part that is compatible with the first application. Next, the system searches a data storage device to identify a first listing on the data storage device as matched. The first listing includes an item for sale on the network-based marketplace and listing item information that matches the item information in the first query. The first listing further includes listing application information that is matched based on the application information.

  • Publication number: 20150278821
Abstract: A system may receive a request to replace a first item purchased by a buyer from a user device operated by the buyer. The request may also include a geographical location of the user device. A second item to replace the first item may be identified based on the item characteristics of the first item. A provider located within a pre-defined distance from the geographic location of the user device may be determined as having the second item available to replace the first item. An option of delivering the second item from the provider to the buyer may be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20140172581
Abstract: Systems and methods to communicate information related to an item described in a user profile are described. The system receives a request over a network from a computer system and associates the request with a user profile that is associated with a user. Next, the system retrieves a description of a first item from the user profile, selects a second item from candidate items, the second item being related to the first item. Finally, the system communicates, over the network, information that is related to the second item.

  • Patent number: 8676649
Abstract: Methods and systems to merchandise a product based on compatibility are disclosed. The system receives a request over a network from a user. Next, the system associates the request with a user profile that is associated with the user, retrieves an application listing from the user profile that describes a first item and associates the first item with a plurality of candidate items based on item cluster information that is generated based on content data information that is received from a content data provider. Next, the system selects a second item from the plurality of candidate items, the second item being a component of the first item. Finally, the system communicates the merchandising information over a network, to merchandize the second item.

  • Publication number: 20100153405
Abstract: Methods and systems to search a data source based on compatibility via a specification are disclosed. The system receives a query from a buyer that includes keywords and identifies at least one keyword in the query as application information. The application information describes a first application. Next, the system infers the other keywords in the query as item information that describes a first part that is sought on a network-based marketplace. The first part is a component of the first application. Next, the system associates the application information with specification identifiers respectively for parts that fit the first application. Next, the system searches the data storage device to identify listings that respectively describe an item for sale on the network-based marketplace, the listings to include listing specification information that matches at least one of the specification identifiers. The listings further include listing item information that matches the item information.

  • Publication number: 20100094723
Abstract: Methods and systems to initialize a data source based on a compatibility with an application are described. The system receives item information from a seller. The item information describes a first part that is offered for sale on a network-based marketplace by the seller. In addition, the system further receives application information from the seller that describes a first application. The first part is compatible with the first application. The application information further includes multiple values respectively selected by the seller that describe the first application. The multiple values are respectively associated with a predetermined set of attributes. Next, the system identifies a multiple application identifiers based on the values that were selected by the seller. Next, the system stores the item information in association with the plurality of application identifiers.
