  • Publication number: 20070003800
Abstract: An air filter assembly for removing particulate contaminants, chemical contaminants, or both, from an incoming dirty air stream. The resulting filtered or clean air is supplied to catalytic equipment, such as a fuel cell. The filter assembly can include a physical filter portion for removing physical or particulate contaminants, a chemical filter portion for removing chemical contaminants, or can have both portions.

  • Publication number: 20060230731
Abstract: A web can comprise a substantially continuous fiber mass and a separation means dispersed into the fiber. The web having a preferred thickness resulting from forming a polymer material and a particulate into a fine fiber layer can have a variety of end uses. A filtration media can include a structure comprising such a web of fine fiber and a substantial volume of particulate embodiment of the separation means. The resulting fine fiber structure provides an improved filtration medium having substantial depth, thickness, and a layered structure. The improved properties of the web results from inclusion of the separation or spacer particulate.

  • Publication number: 20060191249
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a filter assembly for use inside an electronic enclosure, such as a hard disk drive enclosure containing a rotating disk. The filter assembly provides filtration of air within the electronic enclosure, and optionally for air entering the electronic enclosure. Thus, the invention is directed in part to a filter assembly for use in an electronic enclosure, the filter assembly comprising particulate removal media. In certain embodiments the particulate removal media comprising a fine fiber layer containing a hydrophobic additive and at least one polymer. In some implementations it includes a blend of two or more polymers.
