Abstract: The present invention provides a signal device of a type worn by a person while engaging in a water activity in order to indicate the location of the person in the water. The signal device includes at least one belt that may form a part of or be secured to a variety of flotation devices, or that may be secured directly about a person's torso. At least one upright or mast extends upward from the belt to an upper end above a shoulder of the person. A flag or other "attention getter" is secured to the upper end of the upright in order to enhance visibility of the person to whom the signal device is secured.
