  • Patent number: 9154875
Abstract: A device (200) for processing an audio data stream, the device (200) comprising a transient detection unit (201) adapted to detect a transient portion of an audio input data stream (202), and a harmonics generator (203) adapted to generate an audio output data stream (204) based on the audio input data stream (202), the audio output data stream (204) comprising a sequence of harmonics (205) generated only from a non-transient portion of the audio input data stream (202).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 2006
Date of Patent: October 6, 2015
    Assignee: NXP B.V.
    Inventor: Kristof Van Reck
  • Patent number: 8335323
Abstract: A device (100) for processing audio data (101), wherein the device (100) comprises a mid-frequency filter unit (105) adapted to selectively filter a mid-frequency range component of the audio data (101) in such a manner that amplitudes of different frequency sub components of the mid-frequency range component of the audio data (101) are scaled so that the scaled amplitudes reflect relations between the original amplitudes of the different frequency sub-components.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 4, 2006
Date of Patent: December 18, 2012
    Assignee: NXP B.V.
    Inventor: Kristof Van Reck
  • Patent number: 7729497
Abstract: An audio signal (A) is enhanced by dividing the signal into time segments of a selected frequency range and scaling the audio signal in each time segment. The time segments (S) are defined by zero crossings (Z) of the audio signal, thus avoiding the introduction of any undesired harmonics. The scaling may involve linear or non-linear scaling factors. When the selected frequency range comprises bass frequencies, a very effective and distortion-free bass enhancement is obtained.

Date of Patent: June 1, 2010
    Assignee: Koninklijke Philips Electronics N.V.

  • Publication number: 20070211908
Abstract: A multi-channel audio device (1) comprises an amplification unit (2) for amplifying respective audio signals of the channels and a control unit (3) for controlling properties of the audio signal so as to produce a multi-channel listening area (10) or “sweet spot”. The control unit (3) is arranged for continually moving the multi-channel listening area (10) between a first location (I) and a second location (II), such that two or more listeners may alternatingly be located in a multi-channel listening area (10).
