Publication number: 20180231718Abstract: A telecommunications module comprises a housing including a main housing portion defining an interior formed by first and second sidewalls, a bottom wall, a front wall, and a rear wall. A removable cover mounts to the main housing to define a top wall. The interior defines separate right and left chambers. A fiber optic component is housed within the left chamber. A signal input location for receiving an input signal for processing by the component and a signal output location for exiting an output signal are both exposed to the right chamber, wherein both the signal input and output locations are defined by the front wall. Cables carrying the input and output signals are fixed via crimp assemblies at the signal input and output locations. An excess fiber length formed when an outer jacket of the cables contracts more than the fiber due to temperature variations is accommodated by the right chamber to allow the excess fiber length to accumulate without bending in a radius smaller than a minimum bend radius.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 18, 2016Publication date: August 16, 2018Inventors: Kristofer BOLSTER, Soutsada VONGSENG

Publication number: 20180129006Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a frame and a fiber optic module including a rack mount portion, a center portion, and a main housing portion. The rack mount portion is stationarily coupled to the frame, the center portion is slidably coupled to the rack mount portion along a sliding direction, and the main housing portion is slidably coupled to the center portion along the sliding direction. The main housing portion of the fiber optic module includes fiber optic connection locations for connecting cables to be routed through the frame. The center portion of the fiber optic module includes a radius limiter for guiding cables between the main housing portion and the frame, the center portion also including a latch for unlatching the center portion for slidable movement. Slidable movement of the center portion with respect to the rack mount portion moves the main housing portion with respect to the frame along the sliding direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 20, 2017Publication date: May 10, 2018Inventors: James J. Solheid, Thomas Marcouiller, Oscar Fernando Bran de León, Matthew Holmberg, Timothy Jon Haataja, Daniel Ray Mertesdorf, Soutsada Vongseng, Darren Chen, Patrick J. Thompson, John T. Patent number: 9851524Abstract: A fiber optic telecommunications device includes a fiber optic cassette comprising a body defining a front and an opposite rear and an enclosed interior. A fiber optic signal entry location is defined on the body for a fiber optic signal to enter the interior via a fiber optic cable. An adapter block defines a plurality of fiber optic adapters and is removably mounted to the body with a snap-fit interlock, each adapter including a front outer end, a rear inner end, and internal structures allowing mating of optical connectors mounted to the front and rear ends, respectively. A removable spacer is mounted to the body, the spacer configured to expand the size of the enclosed interior of the cassette and a removable cover is mounted to the spacer. Connectorized optical fibers extend from the fiber optic signal entry location to the rear inner ends of at least some of the fiber optic adapters for relaying the fiber optic signal to fiber optic connectors to be coupled to the front outer ends of the adapters.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2015Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: CommScope Technologies LLCInventors: Soutsada Vongseng, Kristofer Bolster, Timothy Badar

Publication number: 20170293100Abstract: A telecommunications chassis comprises a cable sealing portion defining at least one cable opening configured to sealably receive a cable and a module mounting portion extending from the cable sealing portion, which further comprises a housing defining an open front closable by a door to define an interior, a rear wall, a right wall, and a left wall. A plurality of module mounting locations is provided in a vertically stacked arrangement, each configured to receive a telecommunications module through the open front. An exterior of the housing includes a first column of radius limiters defining curved profiles for guiding cables from the front toward the rear with bend control. A second column of radius limiters in the form of spools is spaced apart and generally parallel to the first column of radius limiters and a third column of radius limiters, at least some of which are in the form of spools, is also spaced apart and generally parallel to the first and second columns of radius limiters.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2017Publication date: October 12, 2017Inventors: James J. Solheid, Kristofer Bolster, Soutsada Vongseng, Thomas G. LeBlanc
