Abstract: A method and apparatus for a user to interface with a mobile computing device is disclosed.

Abstract: A wireless network arrangement includes a host device in communication with a wireless network module (e.g., an ultrawideband (UWB) module, etc.) through a universal serial bus (USB). A protocol is provided to support communication over the USB between the host and the module. In at least one embodiment, the host is able to offload network packet header processing functions to the wireless network module via the USB.

Abstract: Techniques for sharing services between electronic devices. In response to a specified input condition, determining whether a remote wireless-enabled device is within range of a local device. The local device being configured to communicate using a first communications protocol and the remote device being configured to communicate over a network using a second communications protocol. Establishing a connection between the local device and the remote device using a third communications protocol. Performing discovery operations to determine services available from the remote device. Generating a graphical representation on the local device of the services available from the remote device.

Abstract: A wireless device dynamically adjusts its beacon period as devices join and disconnect from a network. The number of open beacon slots is programmable and maintained as devices join the piconet.

The computing system is able to execute software application routines on a main CPU and a main OS of the computing system while in the main CPU/OS based state.

Abstract: In some embodiments of the invention, an 802.11-enabled device may fragment an 802.11 packet into smaller packets and transmit the smaller packets instead of the 802.11 to lessen interference with Bluetooth synchronized connection-oriented communication of a collocated or nearby Bluetooth-enabled device.

Abstract: A method is described that comprises executing a service selection method on an off load processor of a computing system to select an available network service for handling traffic sent to/from a handheld device. The execution of the service selection method is performed while a main CPU of said computing system is in a low power state.
