    Abstract: A system and method for acquiring test measurement data using a workstation and a test instrument. The workstation may include a workstation application generated from a test instrument software system and a workstation communications interface. The test instrument may include a test measurement application generated from the same test instrument software system and a test instrument communications interface. A communications medium may be used to connect the workstation communications interface and the test instrument communications interface to enable a user to control the test instrument using the workstation application.
