  • Patent number: 11982505
Abstract: A spade grip attachment assembly for securing a spade grip to a minigun clutch includes a first adapter member configured to be secured to the spade grip and a second adapter member configured to be secured to the clutch. The first and second adapter members are configured such that one is receivable in the other. Each adapter member defines a pair of coaxially aligned pin holes that align to form a passage in which a locking pin is receivable when one adapter member is received in the other. The locking pin is receivable in the passage to releasably secure the first adapter member to the second adapter member.

  • Patent number: 11976900
Abstract: An assembly for quickly attaching and detaching the guide bar to and from the rotor housing of a minigun is provided. The assembly comprises a guide bar and a rotor housing. The guide bar includes a front end having a pinhole extending through the front end and a rear end having a locking cam. The rotor housing includes a recessed channel configured to receive the locking cam and a spring-loaded lock pin assembly configured to secure the front end of the guide bar. The guide bar is secured to the rotor housing when the locking cam is inserted into the recessed channel and the spring-loaded lock pin assembly secures the front end of the guide bar. The assembly allows the guide bar to quickly be attached and detached from the rotor housing without the need for tools. The rotor housing may be designed without a yoke to reduce weight.

  • Publication number: 20230375294
Abstract: An electrically driven machine gun can include a drive motor, a feeder delinker, a clutch, and a motor control unit. The drive motor is configured to rotate a rotor of the gun when receiving power. The feeder delinker is configured to provide ammunition cartridges to the rotor while being rotated. The rotor fires the ammunition cartridges while receiving them from the feeder delinker and being rotated by the drive motor. The clutch is configured to selectively engage the rotor and the feeder delinker while actuated. The motor control unit is configured to receive input from a user and provide power to the drive motor as a function of the input received from the user and to actuate the clutch while providing power to the drive motor. The motor control unit includes a battery to eliminate the necessity of an external power supply.

  • Patent number: 11768049
Abstract: A suppressor for a multi-barrel weapon system includes an adapter baffle configured to engage the weapon system and receive the muzzles of the barrels, a plurality of extension baffles configured to be aligned with and arranged in a stack on the adaptor baffle, and an endcap baffle configured to align with the extension baffles and engage the final extension baffle in the stack. A plurality of projectile apertures in each baffle aligns with the muzzles to define a plurality of parallel bullet paths. Each projectile aperture can be in fluid communication with each other projectile aperture. Each extension baffle can include a plurality of internal vanes configured to circulate propellant gasses emitted from the muzzles of each barrel within an interior space at least partially defined by the extension baffle. The adapter baffle can define an expansion space in which propellant gases emitted from each muzzle comingle during discharge of the weapon system.

  • Patent number: 11604042
Abstract: A suppressor for a multi-barrel weapon system includes a barrel clamp about which the barrels rotate during discharge of the weapon, an adapter baffle engaging the barrel clamp and configured to receive the muzzles of the barrels, a plurality of extension baffles aligned with and arranged in a stack against the adaptor baffle, and an endcap baffle aligned with the extension baffles and engaging the final extension baffle in the stack. A plurality of projectile apertures in each baffle aligns with the muzzles to define a plurality of parallel bullet paths. The stacked baffles define a single continuous interior chamber in which the muzzles are enclosed and through which propellant gases comingle before venting out of the endcap baffle. A connecting rod extends through the barrel clamp and the baffle stack to compressively secure the baffle stack to the barrel clamp.

  • Patent number: 11215424
Abstract: An improved minigun rotor comprised of distinct components that can be removed from the rotor and subsequently replaced is provided. The improved rotor includes a tail having a shaft, where a plurality of bolt tracks is attached to one end of the shaft; a camming section including a first cam and a second cam mounted on a sleeve, where the sleeve is configured to be removably attached to the shaft; and a barrel cluster head including a plurality of barrel apertures, where the barrel cluster head is configured to be removably attached to the rotatable shaft and secured to an end of the shaft. The improved rotor allows for each of the components of the rotor to be replaced (rather than the entire rotor) if a catastrophic failure occurs or the components need to be repaired or replaced due to wear and tear.
