Patent number: 11499835Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for image assisted delivery. A computing device may receive a first image from a first client device and a second image from a second client device. The computing device match a location in the first image to a location in the second image. The computing device may subsequently determine a characteristic of a package in the second image and determine that the characteristic of the package corresponds to package information of an order. Then, the computing device may confirm a delivery of the package.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 2020Date of Patent: November 15, 2022Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Wesley Scott Lauka, Lara Chatterjee Rogers, Kristopher William Bell, Ryan Scott Russell, Alwin Yu-Hang Lee

Patent number: 11358511Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward a storage compartment vehicle (“SCV”) for use in the transport of items for delivery to one or more customers and/or retrieval of items from one or more customers. The SCV may include a plurality of storage compartments that are individually accessible, each of which can contain one or more items. The SCV may navigate to a delivery location and customers may retrieve ordered items from the storage compartments of the SCV. Likewise, customers may return items into storage compartments of the SCV.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2020Date of Patent: June 14, 2022Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Wicksell Metellus, Kristopher William Bell, Julius Chen, Wesley Scott Lauka, Ryan Scott Russell

Patent number: 10742814Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for routing communications to service agents based on a workflow. A computing device identifies a user intent object corresponding to a user interaction with the computing device. The computing device then generates a search criterion based on the identified user intent object and uses the search criterion for identifying the user intent in subsequent user interactions. After identifying the user intent, the computing device can identify a workflow corresponding to the user intent object. Later, the computing device can process one or more tasks associated with the workflow.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2019Date of Patent: August 11, 2020Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Kristopher William Bell, Vikas Seshagiri Rao Bhardwaj, Ariel Grob Dos Santos, Kathleen Ann Mitchell Gavenman, Gunashekar Jayaraman, Farrukh Raza, Andrew Gardiner Sutherland

Patent number: 10627244Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for image assisted delivery. A computing device may identify a delivery location based at least in part on an image file received from a first client device. The computing device may then generate a series of directions from a current location of a second client device to the delivery location. The computing device may subsequently send the series of directions to the second client device. Finally, the computing device may send the image file received from the first client device to the second client device.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2015Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Wesley Scott Lauka, Lara Chatterjee Rogers, Kristopher William Bell, Ryan Scott Russell, Alwin Yu-Hang Lee

Patent number: 10484313Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for navigating a workflow using a text messaging interface. A client device executes an application. The application renders the messaging interface on a display. The application also renders within the messaging interface a response to a previous selection of a first user interface element. The application further renders a second user interface element within the messaging interface that, when manipulated, causes the application to remove the response and the second user interface element from the messaging interface and also to rerender the first user interface element within the messaging interface.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2016Date of Patent: November 19, 2019Assignee: AMAZON TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: Andrew Gardiner Sutherland, Kristopher William Bell, Kathleen Ann Mitchell Gavenman, Farrukh Raza

Patent number: 10469665Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for routing communications to service agents based on a workflow. A computing device identifies a user intent object corresponding to a user interaction with the computing device. The computing device then identifies a workflow corresponding to the user intent object. Later, the computing device identifies a service agent capable of completing the workflow. Then, the computing device routes a user to the service agent.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2016Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Kristopher William Bell, Vikas Seshagiri Rao Bhardwaj, Ariel Grob Dos Santos, Kathleen Ann Mitchell Gavenman, Gunashekar Jayaraman, Farrukh Raza, Andrew Gardiner Sutherland

Publication number: 20180357591Abstract: Location directed offers are described herein. According to one embodiment, an order for delivery of an item to a delivery location is received. In turn, a route for delivery of the item is evaluated, and computing devices are identified along the route. A subset of the computing devices is selected to receive an offer to purchase an item for expeditious delivery during the carrier's delivery of the item to the delivery location. For efficiency, the subset of computing devices may be selected based on proximity to the route for delivery. Offer notifications are sent to the subset of computing devices and, in response to an acceptance of an offer, the carrier is notified of an additional delivery location for delivery of another item. Thus, upon return of the carrier from delivery of the item, for example, the carrier may also deliver other items along the route.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 19, 2015Publication date: December 13, 2018Inventors: Kristopher William Bell, Wesley Scott Lauka, Joshua Joel Boelter, Ryan Scott Russell

Patent number: 10055784Abstract: When a search query is provided to a search engine, and search results obtained from the search engine in response to the search query are displayed in a stream or list on a mobile device, an interaction with one or more of the search results causes information regarding the search result to be displayed within the stream or list, thereby creating a visual history of the user's interactions with the search results. Additionally, the items following a search result with which the user has interacted may be reordered based on the attributes of the search result, the user, or any other relevant factor.Type: GrantFiled: October 28, 2014Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Joshua Joel Boelter, Kristopher William Bell, Wesley Scott Lauka
