  • Patent number: 10420910
Abstract: A breathing mask has a mask body surrounding a cavity that is open towards one side and is intended for coming into contact with a human face around the mouth and/or nose. A valve arrangement is provided in the mask body with an inspiration valve, for controlling the flow of gas from a port for a breathing gas feed device for providing a breathing gas into the cavity, and an exhalation valve for controlling the flow of gas from the cavity into the surrounding atmosphere. An emergency breathing valve, controlling gas flow from the atmosphere surrounding the breathing mask into the cavity, has a pressure threshold, to allow gas flow, that is lower than an inhalation valve pressure threshold. The pressure thresholds at which the respective inhalation valve and the emergency breathing valve open are coordinated by the closing element being designed as a separate component of the valve arrangement.

  • Patent number: 9731091
Abstract: An elbow (1), for a respiration mask for the artificial respiration of a patient, includes an angular tube (30), which defines a breathing gas duct (10), with a tube port (11) with an inlet opening (12) for connecting a breathing tube (7) and with a mask port (13) with an outlet opening (14) for connecting the respiration mask (9). The elbow also includes an anti-suffocation valve (18) and carbon dioxide expiration openings (19). The elbow (1) is able to be switched, while being able to be handled in a simple manner, in different open and closed states for the anti-suffocation valve (18) and the carbon dioxide expiration openings (19). The elbow (1) includes only one (a single) switching member (20) for activating and deactivating the anti-suffocation valve (18) and the carbon dioxide expiration openings (19).

  • Publication number: 20090320850
Abstract: A respiration system (1) is provided with a breathing mask (2), a connection device (3) embodied on the breathing mask (2) for connecting the breathing mask (2) to a flexible air tube (15), a forehead support (4), and a band system (5) for attaching the breathing mask (2) to a head of a patient. An attaching device (9a, 9b, 9c, 9d) is arranged on the breathing mask (2) and on the forehead support (4) for the band system (5). The respiration system (1) is able to be adapted to the greatest variety of anatomies and requirements of a patient's head. Further, the respiration system (1) is simple and reliable to use and has low manufacturing costs. The forehead support (4) can be detachably connected to the breathing mask (2), so that the respiration system (1) can be used for respirating patients both with and without a forehead support (4).
