  • Publication number: 20070006651
Abstract: A method and system is disclosed for determining a property of an object by measuring ultrasonic attenuation. With the proposed method, a measured ultrasonic interaction signal of the object is compared with a reference signal produced using the same generation and detection setup, but using a reference part. The reference ultrasonic signal has low attenuation, and exhibits equivalent diffraction properties as the object, with respect to a broadband ultrasonic pulse. The difference is attributable to the attenuation of the object. The attenuation as a function of frequency, the attenuation spectrum, is fitted to a model to obtain a parameter useful for identifying one of the many properties of an object that varies with ultrasonic attenuation.

An inner rotary wing (16) is radially outwardly directed and is attached to the inner rotary part (5?). A second stabilizer part (2, 2?) is attached to the inner rotary part (5?), wherein the outer rotary part (4?) with the outer rotary wing (14) moves relative to the liner rotary part (5?) with the inner rotary wing (16) up to the point where the outer rotary wing (14) contacts the inner rotary wing (16). The rotary wings (14, 16) are rotatable relative to each other up to a predetermined angle. The stabilizer is coordinated in parallel to an axle of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 7140632
Abstract: A device is described for indicating the locking state of a fifth wheel coupling and an arrangement of a first and a second sensor. According to the prior art, the first sensor is arranged on the underside of the locking latch and monitors the position of the kingpin in relation to the locking latch. A second sensor that is used is an inductive proximity switch that monitors a safety mechanism against loosening. In practice, this type of positioning of the first sensor has led to damage of the locking latch and the first sensor, while the signals of the second sensor were often false signals. Thus, the object of the invention is to provide a device for indicating the locking state, which maximizes operational availability and minimizes false signals. A further object of the invention is to optimize the arrangement of the first and the second sensor.

  • Publication number: 20060259772
Abstract: The invention describes a method of authenticating radio frequency (RF) transponders (14.1, 14.2, 14.3, to 14,n) in an electronic identification system (10), the system (10) also comprising an associated reader (18) and a verifier (22). At least one transponder encoder (16.1, 16.2) is provided for writing respective first watermark data into a memory arrangement of each transponder (14.1, 14.2, 14.3, to 14.n). A verifier (22) interrogates a selected transponder (14.1) to read data stored in the transponder (14.1), the verifier (22) using the read data to derive from its memory an algorithm and input data from which to derive second watermark data for comparison with the first watermark data and provide a signal indicative of the authentication of the transponder. Alternatively the comparison between the first and second watermark data can take place in the transponder (14.1) which is arranged to provide a signal to the verifier (22) as to the authenticity of the transponder (14.1).
