  • Patent number: 11729274
Abstract: A system, which includes a first device associated with a user, a second device configured to establish a user session and a server, performs storing a default user session setting associated with the user, the default user session setting defining a default user access privilege to functionality or content; determining that the first device is proximate to the second device; receiving a second user input requesting to modify the default user session setting, the second user input including modification data defining a restrictive modification to the default user session setting; modifying, at the server, the default user session setting based on the modification data to create a customized user session setting defining a customized user access privilege to the functionality or content available via the system; and establishing, at the second device, the customized user session for the user based on the customized user setting received from the server.

  • Publication number: 20230095464
Abstract: Techniques for providing unified user interfaces among actively paired devices, including that first and second devices are actively paired together at a first time based on a determination that the first device is in physical proximity to the second device when the first and second devices are both authenticated for a same user service account; receiving, at the first time, an indication of an actuation of a first user interface control associated with a teleconferencing session and presented by the first device; and causing, in response the receipt of the indication and the determination that the first and second devices are actively paired together at the first time, a real-time component of the teleconferencing session to be rendered by the second device while a first user associated with the user service account is joined to the teleconferencing session as a participant.

  • Patent number: 11304246
Abstract: A server allows pairing of a computing device with a companion computing device so that they may automatically connect to one another in the future. Pairing is accomplished by responding to a user request to pair a particular companion device by identifying computing devices associated with a particular user account, and directing those devices to monitor whether they are in range of a proximity signal (such as a BLUETOOTH® signal). A user interface on the companion device displays a list of devices specific to the user that are in proximity to the companion computing device, so that the user can choose a device to pair with the companion computing device.

  • Patent number: 8427995
Abstract: Aspects of reducing an occurrence of false grants for a multicast session within a wireless communications network are disclosed. For example, an access network receives an announce message to be transmitted to a plurality of access terminals, the received announce message configured to announce a given multicast session. The access network determines whether sufficient resources are available to support the given multicast session, The access network configures the received announce message to convey whether sufficient resources are available to support the given multicast session based on the determining step, and transmits the configured announce message to the plurality of access terminals. A given access terminal receives the announce message, and determines whether the received announce message indicates whether sufficient resources are available to support the given multicast session.

  • Publication number: 20090080396
Abstract: A system, method, and computer device that allow a wireless communication device to selectively bundle messages in an access channel communication packet being sent to another computer device on the wireless communication network, such as a base station are disclosed. The bundled messages are typically sent in response to a request sent to the wireless communication device for response to a specific event, such as the setup of a group communication call. The receiving computer device determines if the access channel communication packet contains data indicating one or more bundled messages are therewithin such that resources only then will expended to review the bundled messages to check for the availability of the requested resources.
