  • Publication number: 20240120781
Abstract: A stator for an electrical machine includes a stator yoke and a plurality of stator teeth extending radially inwards from the stator yoke, the stator teeth defining stator slots for stator windings. A plurality of auxiliary teeth extend radially inwards from the stator yoke into the stator slots. At least some of the auxiliary teeth comprise cooling channels. A conduit is arranged to carry coolant circumferentially around the stator and into the cooling channels in the auxiliary teeth.

  • Publication number: 20230396113
Abstract: A stator for a rotating electrical machine is disclosed. The stator comprises a plurality of stator teeth wound with stator windings. The stator windings on each tooth comprise at least two parallel conductors which are wound as separate coils. The coils on one tooth are transpose connected with the coils on another tooth. This may help to reduce or eliminate circulating currents, while at the same time minimizing AC losses.

  • Patent number: 11658505
Abstract: A power generation system comprises a generator set, a switch device, an electrical storage device, a first inverter, a second inverter, and a controller. The switch device includes an input terminal connected to the generator set and an output terminal connected to a load. The first inverter is connected between the input terminal and the electrical storage device. The second inverter is connected between the output terminal and the electrical storage device. The controller is communicably coupled to the generator set, the switch device, the first inverter, and the second inverter. The controller is configured to determine whether an external power source is providing power to the load and, if not, the controller operates the power generation system in a first state. If the external power source is providing power to the load, the controller operates the power generation system in a second state.

  • Publication number: 20220302795
Abstract: A rotating electrical machine is disclosed, the machine comprising a stator comprising a stator core and stator end windings extending out of the stator core, a rotor arranged to rotate inside the stator, a rotor shaft, the rotor shaft having a hollow interior, a coolant circuit for circulating coolant through the machine, and a machine enclosure. The coolant circuit comprises an injection tube arranged to introduce coolant into the hollow interior of the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft is arranged such that coolant exits the hollow interior of the rotor shaft at each end of the machine and is propelled outwards towards the stator end windings. The machine enclosure comprises a passageway for supplying coolant to the injection tube. A coolant distribution channel may be provided for distributing coolant to other parts of the machine to allow the machine to be cooled at multiple locations using the same coolant circuit.

  • Patent number: 11128139
Abstract: A power generation system (100) including an inverter (140) structured to convert a direct current (DC) power output from an external source (110) to an alternating current (AC) power. The inverter includes at least one phase for converting the DC power to a corresponding phase of AC power. The system also includes an alternator (124) of a generator set (120). The alternator includes at least one phase, each comprising a first winding section and a second winding section coupled in series between a point of common coupling and an output terminal of the phase. A phase of the inverter is connected in parallel with the first winding section of the alternator. The inverter is configured to provide reactive power compensation, power factor correction or acts as an active filter to provide harmoincs damping and the system can be used to buffer and handle grids transients.
