Patents by Inventor Krzysztof Szczyglowski

Krzysztof Szczyglowski has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 7053265
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel bi-directional promoter. The present invention further provides methods of producing proteins of interest and methods of controlling gene expression using the bi-directional promoter. The present invention also provides methods of expressing one or more proteins of interest from a novel bi-directional promoter of the present invention. The present invention thus provides improved methods of regulating gene expression in plants or other organisms and expressing one or more proteins concurrently in a variety of cell types.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 1, 2001
Date of Patent: May 30, 2006
Assignee: The Board of Trustees Operating Michigan State University
    Inventors: Philipp Kapranov, Krzysztof Szczyglowski
  • Patent number: 6489541
Abstract: Plant growth and plant growth habit can be controlled without the application of exogenous plant hormones or hormone mimetics using the nucleic acid sequences and methods provided. UDP-Glucose: Indol-3-ylacetyl-glucosyl transferase (IAGlu Transferase) amino acid sequence and nucleic acid coding sequences for this enzyme, specifically exemplified for Zea mays, are provided. Nucleic acid constructs directing the expression of IAGlu Transferase and the expression of antisense RNA specific therefor allows the control of growth habit and plant size in transgenic plants containing such nucleic acid constructs.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 1994
Date of Patent: December 3, 2002
Assignee: Michigan State University Board of Trustees
Inventors: Robert S. Bandurski, Jedrzej B. Szerszen, Krzysztof Szczyglowski
