Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a drinking vessel, such as a water bottle, with a straw to facilitate access to the fluid within. According to a first aspect of the disclosed technology, there is provided a drinking vessel, comprising: a straw; a lid comprising an opening operable to receive the straw; a container; and a cap operable to be in an open position or a closed position; wherein when the cap is in the open position, the straw is arranged to provide fluid communication between a user and the container through the lid, and further wherein when the cap is in the closed position, the straw is urged by the cap into a bent shape such that the straw itself occludes fluid communication.
