Abstract: A method for varying speech speed is provided. The method includes the following steps: receive an original speech signal; calculate a pitch period of the original speech signal; define search ranges according to the pitch period; find a maximum within each of the search ranges of the original speech signal; divide the original speech signal into speech sections according to the maxima; obtain a speed-varied speech signal by applying a speed-varying algorithm to each speech section of the original speed signal according to a speed-varying command; and eventually, output the speed-varied speech signal.

Abstract: A device and method is provided for a user to arrange learning courses. The device comprises: a course database, a capability examining module and a course arranging module. The course database stores multiple learning courses, each including multiple learning quizzes. The capability examining module provides capability examination(s) for the user to determine the user's current capability level. The course arranging module acquires the corresponding learning courses from the course database according to the capability level determined by the capability examining module, and arranges these acquired corresponding learning courses for the user to learn.

Abstract: A device and method for evaluating learning including a level examining module, a course planning module and a course evaluation module are provided. The level examining module provides a level examination for a user to determine a current capability level of the user. The course planning module plans a learning course for the use according to the current capability level as determined by the level examining module. The course evaluation module generates an evaluation quiz according to the learning course. After the user finishes the evaluation quiz, the course evaluation module also generates learning information to evaluate the user's learning status.
