    Abstract: A thin film transistor array substrate includes a plurality of pixel areas defined by scan lines and data lines; a pixel electrode disposed on each of pixel areas; and a thin film transistor disposed on the each scan lines includes a gate electrode; a source electrode; a first drain electrode and a second drain electrode disposed along the source electrode and on the opposite sides; and an insulating layer over the source electrode, the first drain electrode, the second drain electrode and data lines. The insulating layer has a contact hole to electrically connect with the pixel electrode and the first drain electrode; and the second drain electrode extends to a portion adjacent the pixel electrode and electrically insulated with each other by the insulating layer. The present repair method is to irradiate a laser beam to short the second drain electrode and the pixel electrode at the adjacent pixel area.

    Abstract: A liquid crystal display with electrostatic discharge protection includes an inner short-ring which surrounds the display region and an outer short-ring which surrounds the inner short-ring, wherein the inner short-ring and the outer short-ring are both located near the panel edge. The inner short-ring is connected with the display region indirectly, and the outer short-ring is electrically connected with the display region and the inner short-ring at the same time. The inner short-ring is electrically connected with the display region through the outer short-ring, and the inner short-ring can serve as a repair line after edge grinding the panel.

The gates and sources of part of the third active devices connect with the first segment, and the drains connect with the odd scan lines.     Abstract: A multi-domain vertical alignment liquid crystal display panel and a thin film transistor array thereof are provided. The thin film transistor array comprises a substrate, scan lines, data lines, thin film transistors, and pixel electrodes, wherein the scan lines, the data lines, the thin film transistors, and the pixel electrodes are disposed on the substrate. The scan lines and the data lines define a plurality of pixel regions on the substrate, and the pixel electrodes and the thin film transistors are disposed in the pixel regions. Each pixel electrode has a plurality of main slits and a plurality of fine slits disposed by the sides of the main slits. At least one end of each main slit in the periphery of the corresponding pixel electrode is curved for modifying the peripheral electric field of the pixel electrode, thus liquid crystal molecules can tilt in a regular direction.

    Abstract: A thin-film transistor (hereinafter referred to as “TFT”) LCD (liquid crystal display) apparatus and its manufacturing method can improve the shortages of improper metal coating protection and incomplete light shielding.
