Abstract: A multimedia apparatus includes a wireless transmission device, an audio receiving device, a processing device and a projection device. The audio receiving device is for receiving a first voice data. The processing device is coupled with the audio receiving device and the wireless transmission device. The processing device is for outputting the first voice data via the wireless transmission device. The projection device is coupled with the processing device. When the processing device receives a first image data corresponding to the first voice data via the wireless transmission device, the processing device operates the projection device to project a first projection picture according to the first image data. A multimedia system including the multimedia apparatus is also disclosed.

Abstract: A semantic map orientation device includes an image capturing device, a memory, and a processor. The memory stores map information, where the map information defines at least one zone in a space. The processor captures a semantic attribute list, where the semantic attribute list includes a plurality of object combinations and a plurality of spatial keywords, and the spatial keywords correspond to the object combinations respectively. The processor is configured to access the map information, control the image capturing device to capture image information corresponding to one of the at least one zone, and determine whether a plurality of objects captured in the image information matches one of the object combinations in the semantic attribute list. If the objects captured in the image information match the object combination, the processor classifies the zone into the spatial keyword corresponding to the object combination to update the map information.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a portable communication device with a dual configuration storage unit comprising a master storage unit and a backup storage unit. A flash memory is utilized therein as a storage medium. Because the flash memory is easily corrupted and may have bad blocks situations, the dual configuration blocks technology similar to mirror reflecting is utilized to reduce the risk of data corruption and bad blocks on the flash memory. The backup storage unit may store identical data to those in the master storage unit. When data in the master storage unit are corrupted, data recovery may be performed by using the backup storage unit.

Abstract: A power management method for hand-held information processing apparatus includes the steps of creating an idle thread when a central processing unit of the apparatus is in an idle status; counting a number of times of execution of the idle thread; comparing an obtained count with at least a high and a low default; detecting peripherals of the apparatus to see whether they are still in a busy status; temporarily stopping peripherals that are not in the busy status; awaiting until the peripherals that are in the busy status have completed execution of their works; and raising or lowering an execution frequency of a system of the apparatus when the counted number of times of execution of the idle thread is larger than the at least one high default value or smaller than the at least one low default value, respectively.

Abstract: In a method and apparatus for generating musical accompaniment signals corresponding to a musical program, there is provided a recording medium which has an audio storage unit and a lyric storage unit separate from the audio storage unit. The audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit respectively have a plurality of audio music data and a plurality of lyric data corresponding to a plurality of the musical programs stored therein. The lyric data include encoded text data and timing information. In operation, the audio music data and the lyric data corresponding to a selected one of the musical programs are retrieved from the recording medium. The encoded text data and timing information retrieved from the recording medium are decoded to obtain decoded data, and bitmap data are then generated from the decoded data. The bitmap data are synchronized with the audio music data retrieved from the recording medium in accordance with the timing information.

Abstract: In a method and apparatus for generating audio-visual musical accompaniment signals corresponding to a musical program, there is provided a recording medium which has an audio storage unit, a lyric storage unit and a video storage unit separate from the audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit. The audio storage unit and the lyric storage unit respectively have a plurality of audio music data and a plurality of lyric data corresponding to a plurality of the musical programs stored therein. The video storage unit has a plurality of video segments to be commonly shared by the plurality of the musical programs stored therein. In operation, the audio music data and the lyric data corresponding to a selected one of the musical programs are retrieved from the recording medium, while at least a section of the video segments are retrieved from the recording medium in an order.
