  • Publication number: 20080112224
Abstract: A mini flash disk with data security function conforms to the hard disk specification of the Technical Committee T13 that describes the width of shell is 2.5 inches or 1.8 inches. The shell of the mini flash disk comprises a control chipset for connecting with the external connecting port, a plurality of connecting units connected with the control chipset, wherein the connecting units conform to the same interface specification with the control chipset. Consequently, the connecting units can connect with a flash device respectively for mirroring the data of the first flash device to be within the second flash device by control chipset, such that can ensure the data security for the mini flash disk.

  • Patent number: 7313079
Abstract: A method of using an RF-sum signal and a plurality of detection signals to determine a property of at least one header and selecting one of a plurality of carrier regions is disclosed. The RF-sum signal and the plurality of detection signals are produced according to the header. The method includes using the RF-sum signal to produce a protection range signal, which indicates the position of the header. The protection region signal is used to protect the plurality of detection signals and determine the property of the header and the correct carrier region.

  • Patent number: 7257062
Abstract: An optical disc drive includes a spindle motor and a computer program. The spindle motor is adapted for rotating an optical disc. The computer program configures the optical disc drive to perform consecutive steps of a method for detecting eccentricity of the optical disc, including: a) while the optical disc drive operates under focused and track-locked conditions, controlling the spindle motor to rotate the optical disc at a specified rotation speed; b) measuring an eccentricity value of the optical disc being rotated by the spindle motor; and c) comparing the eccentricity value measured in step b) with a reference value to determine extent of eccentricity of the optical disc.

  • Publication number: 20060153048
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for generating a protection window signal for use in header detection of an optical storage medium are disclosed. One of the methods involves: extracting a maximum level of an RF-sum signal derived from the optical storage medium to generate a first level value; extracting at least one of DC level and bottom level of the RF-sum signal to generate a corresponding second level value; calculating a reference level according to the first and second level values; and comparing the RF-sum signal with the reference level to determine a protection window signal. When the accessing of the optical storage medium is switched from a first area with a first reflectivity to a second area with a second reflectivity, the response speed of extracting the DC level/bottom level of the RF-sum signal, the weighting of the second level value, or the DC level of the RF-sum signal is adjusted.
