Abstract: An exemplary on-screen display (OSD) system (3) includes a display device (5) and a computer (4) connected to the display device. The display device includes a micro processing unit (MPU) (532) configured for providing a plurality of instruction signals according to external instructions. The computer includes a memory (41) and a central processing unit (CPU) (42). The memory includes an external OSD unit (412) configured for generating an external OSD menu. The external OSD menu is colorful and dynamic. The CPU is configured for identifying the instruction signals from the MPU and providing control signals corresponding to the instruction signals. The external OSD unit is capable of setting and assigning data to generate the external OSD menu on receiving the control signals from the CPU, whereupon the external OSD menu is displayed on the display device.

The host computer includes a graphics card (220), a driver layer (225), and an application layer (226). The application layer includes a graphical user interface, and the driver layer includes a plurality of drivers to drive the graphics card. Abstract: An exemplary system for creating an international color consortium (ICC) profile of a liquid crystal display (LCD) (20) is disclosed. The system includes: a setting module (101) is configured for setting parameters of color pictures; a transmitting module (102) is configured for transmitting the set parameters of color pictures to the LCD for displaying of corresponding color pictures; a receiving module (103) is configured for receiving chromaticity coordinates that are generated according to color information of the color pictures displayed by the LCD; a processing module (104) is configured for converting the chromaticity coordinates into numerical coordinates of a profile connection space (PCS); and a generating module (105) is configured for generating an ICC profile according to the numerical coordinates of the PCS. The system is configured in a host computer (10) that stores standard parameters of pictures for display by the LCD.
