The display system includes a head-mounted display device to display visual content on a display panel. An input port receives external visual content to be displayed on the head-mounted display device from a connected computing device. The display system includes an input device on the head-mounted display device to receive input regarding a condition at the head-mounted display device. The display system includes a memory device on the head-mounted display device to store a database which holds a number of status messages related to a detected condition at the head-mounted display device. The display system also includes an image processing integrated circuit on the head-mounted display device to present the status messages on the head-mounted display device.
