  • Patent number: 9291541
Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus and a method of measuring porosity and permeability of a carbon dioxide underground storage medium. Both of the porosity and the permeability are measured in the state that the confining pressure is applied once. The variation characteristic in the porosity and the permeability of the core sample according to the salt precipitation occurring when supercritical carbon dioxide is injected is continuously measured. The apparatus includes a holder receiving a core sample, a pressure pump applying a confining pressure to the core sample, a gas chamber storing gas and supplying supply the stored gas to the core sample, first to third pressure gauges measuring an internal pressure of the gas chamber and front and rear portions of the holder, and a gas flow meter measuring a flow rate of gas.

  • Patent number: 9162200
Abstract: Disclosed is provided a method of injecting and reacting super-critical phase CO2 without pressure loss. The method includes preparing gas phase CO2, producing liquid phase CO2 by pressurizing the prepared gas phase CO2, producing super-critical phase CO2 by adjusting a temperature of the produced liquid phase CO2, filling incompressible fluid in a reactor and an injection line from an injection unit and pressurizing the incompressible fluid, injecting the produced super-critical phase CO2 into the reactor, and controlling a pressure of the injected super-critical phase CO2 by a pressure regulating unit.

  • Patent number: 9128021
Abstract: Disclosed is a holder for measuring a permeability of an unconsolidated sediment. The holder includes a sediment installation part having a solid sediment attached to opposite ends of an unconsolidated sediment along a longitudinal direction; a transverse pressure supply part installed to surround the sediment installation part to supply a predetermined transverse pressure to the sediment installation part by using a fluid supplied from the outside; and a longitudinal pressure supply part installed at opposite ends of the transverse pressure supply part to cover opposite ends of the sediment installation part to be moved along a vertical direction so as to supply a predetermined longitudinal pressure to the sediment installation part.

  • Patent number: 9074456
Abstract: A system and a method of controlling a fluid temperature for improving injectivity of a supercritical carbon dioxide into a stratum includes a casing part installed in a well, which is formed from a ground surface to a target stratum for injection, a grouting part formed between the casing part and a counterforted wall of the well, a cover covering an upper portion of the casing part, an injection tube inserted into the casing part through the cover and receiving the carbon dioxide injected into the injection tube, a perforation part serving as a passage allowing the carbon dioxide to flow from the injection tube to the target stratum, a packing part formed between the injection tube and an inner portion of the casing part, a heat coil part surrounding the injection tube, and a temperature adjusting unit controlling a temperature of the heat coil part.

  • Patent number: 8340927
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a flow velocity and a flow rate of groundwater leaking from the earth surface includes: a storage tank that is fixed to close a side surface and a top surface of an earth surface region from which the groundwater leaks and that stores the groundwater leaking from the earth surface; a liquid column tube that causes the groundwater stored in the storage tank to introduce thereto and causes a water column to rise; and a pressure-type measuring unit that is formed in a top opening of the liquid column tube and that senses a differential pressure. Accordingly, it is possible to easily and rapidly measure a flow velocity and a flow rate of groundwater leaking from the earth surface by the use of a user's terminal in real time, or by time zones, or on the user's request.
